I know google has promised in the past to make the Nest thermostats work in GSuite. I was hoping that it was fixed with this new thermostat since it says its primarily setup with Google Home. Its not the case. Also annoying is the adjust and select functions that you "slide" your fingers on the right side and its not touch screen. The older Learning & E thermostats with the rotating ring were much easier to use. This was returned for an Ecobee3 that works just fine with Google Home and a GSuite account. Sorry Google.

Great Unit already saving me $$$

Was originally worried about not having a C wire but this was no issue. The mirror face looks great in the room and adds a nice touch to the room. Has been great letting me know when my furnace isn't working properly and also love to be able to change the temperature from anywhere.

Only issue I can say is that the touch pad on the side isn’t the easiest to use but honestly don’t really adjust it thru the device much since have it to automatically adjust at certain times of the day.

We installed these hoping to save money on utilities. They're amazing. The cost of heating my home this winter is cheaper than my old house which was 3 times smaller. Setting up the nest was pretty simple and setting the schedule was even easier. Definitely a must buy.

Best bang for the buck

That being said, I am not disappointed at all! They are a scaled down version of the nest models but still offer 85% of all the same features.

Must download and use Google Home app. Had several G-mail accounts. If I did not yet have one, would have been a hassle.

I bought different brand before and room temperature displayed room was moving too fast up and down, making the a/c unit going on and off too often. I don’t have that problem since I replaced thermostat with this Nest Smart Google unit. Happy customer

But using the Google Home app makes it a little easier but its definitely not as user friendly.

Though the Nest Thermostat doesn't have a touch screen, you can use the touch bar on the right side to control your thermostat. You can swipe up to raise the temperature, swipe down to lower it, and tap to confirm. The display will show you how many minutes until your desired temperature is reached.
- Tap the touch bar to bring up the menu.
- Swipe up or down to select an option.
- Tap the touch bar again to confirm your selection.

Great and very cool looking option

It doesn't have the learning of the more advanced model. I've had those in another house and we ended up overwriting the "smart" program anyway. I did have an issue with my network but it went away when I upgraded my router tech.

I like the fact that it provides all the needed information succinctly and in a manner which is easy to see and comprehend. Overall very happy with it... and it is pretty cool looking

The c-wire is to assist with battery life is somewhat confusing. The battery life is short lived without the c-wire which is a black wire.
