Low battery and no power issues may occur when the heating and cooling wires for your system can't deliver enough power to keep the Nest Thermostat charged up. As a result it starts draining the batteries and disconnects from your Wi-Fi. And sometimes, the Wi-Fi connectivity can also cause the battery to drain as it can't charge up at the same time it consumes power. Installing a common (C) wire between your HVAC system and Nest Thermostat can help resolve the Wi-Fi disconnection and power problems. We recommend contacting a Nest pro technician to check if your HVAC system might already have a common wire installed, and install one if needed. Geek club isn’t doing it’s job!

Twice I’ve been told soon. Major disappointment in service. Have no idea on product quality if I can’t get it installed and my rebate time frame is running out.

A must have for any home

Why do I have two different ones? Because they were both the last one's on the shelf. My first time using this was in my last apartment. Due to it's "smart" capabilities, which help reduce energy usage from your heating and air system, it essentially pays for itself within the first month's usage. Now in my newly bought house, I had to change out from the old school thermostat back to this one. At first, I was gonna be cheap and just keep the old ones; however, I end up paying for it in the result of high electric bill. I quickly went to the store and got this one (along with the learning thermostat), and have noticed immediate results. I expect buying this will pay for itself within the next month or two.

While it said it doesn't require a C-wire, but in my case I still needed one and my older system didn't have it or a way to add one. For those with the same issue, I fixed mine with a C-wire transformer that only takes a few minutes to plug up with an outlet. So there is is a way to make it work. After that, it's running great and I am very happy with the upgrade. Before you make this purchase, you need to check with your existing system and understand what it will take to make it work with this Nest. Even though Google's compatibility check passed me, I still needed to add a C-wire to make it work properly. If all else ask your HVAC guy if you're able to use this.

Some people may not like that the mirrored surface picks up fingerprints which looks bad/needs to be cleaned often. But I use my phone to control them and love being able to adjust/view temperatures and usage. My townhouse has 3 floors and the temps vary a lot by floor, so the data is helpful. I'm glad I did not get the "Learning Thermostat" version. This one is perfect

Installation instructions was easy to understand which made the actual setup a breeze. had it up and running in no time. i’m enjoying not having to walk all the way on the other side of the house to adjust the temp. No issues with it so far.

If you have a recently built home, this will most likely just be plug and play. But unless you know wiring, because you won't find any answers to your questions online, this thing is a paperweight. They market things like this as easy to install, well that's a lie. I've returned mine. BTW no electrician will waste time installing this or it will turn into a rewiring from your HVAC that costs hundreds of dollars.
