Love and easy setup

It was very handy using it from the app especially since it was a cold morning..putting the heater on without getting out of bed was so nice

Gets the job done

Essentially, the app setup needs to be completed in one setting, and the thermostat doesn't quite work correctly unless the setup is done a certain way. E.g. not knowing what your furnace/ac powrr source is and skipping by that page will cause your thermostat to not function correctly

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this as mine thermostat is controlled by evergy and they are shutting it off and on so much my ac unit outside burns up contactors, this will allow me to monitor my temp when not home and if trouble occurs know i meed to get home to fix it ... in mean time try and figure out how to unwire there control box near my furnace

I ended up spending $1K to have a heating contractor re-wire before this would work properly.

Not as nice as original Nest Thermostat E.

Picture shows a white face, but it is actually a black/mirrored face. Does NOT, AND I REPEAT NOT, blend in with white wall. Outer ring is white, or whatever color option you choose. Additionally, now that these are "Google Nest" branded thermostats, you MUST use the google assistant app to set up and control these. I Replaced an original Nest (pre-google/nest) unit and the original Nest thermostat app was MUCH nicer and intuitive to use. In addition, the old Nest used a flat lithium battery and had a micro-usb port to charge it in an emergency. The new google-nest unit uses rechargeable AA batteries and has no charging port for them. FYI, the wifi transmitter in my original nest thermostat failed after about 4 years, which is why I bought this one.

The new Nest Thermostat is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Also, it uses 2 standard 1.5 V AAA alkaline batteries that you’ll need to replace when they get low. You’ll get notification on the thermostat and in the Home app when the batteries start to get low.

Google Nest Smart Programmable WiFi Thermostat

It is very convenient and makes it easy to handle the house temperature from anywhere in the house. We even bought a second one for the next floor.

This doesnt come with learning capabilities but its worthy the price with the automation you can do yourself with the app. The design is pretty slick and appealing. the interface is intuitive and draws users attention upon approaching it. Love the design and aesthetics.

They are extremely easy to install, set up and operate. I love the touchscreen, look and feel. The app on the phone is fine. Easy to get to, change and operate. Well worth the price, but I am not "super fancy". I like functional over fancy.

However, I had a wifi outage and this actually caused the thermostat to power down. It should not do this. Best Buy Total Tech ( I am a member) repeatedly said it is normal. Then it powers down when I adjust my humidistat. Nest says it us likely defective or wired wrong. Total Tech says it is operating normally. I will continue to pursue this. I think the thermostat could be great if this gets resolved.

I did not like having to go online to get installation instructions. Also they did not clearly describe how to use the unit as far as adjusting and making menu selections. They should have done that first. Optional Backplate should have been included.
