Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was glad that I hired an electrician to install this as an additional power adapter was necessary, but now that it is in, I find it far superior to our previous thermostat in ease of use, and therefore will likely save us money and keep us warm when we need it.

It works but on battery only. C wire issue they said wouldn’t be. I should’ve been smarter. Good quality though, touch dial works well, looks great and it’s slim.

Make sure you do not go with the pre made schedule they set for you in the setup process or it will change the temperature on its own.

The features are slimmed down from the Nest Learning Thermostat but I like the new temperature profiles of "Comfort" "Sleep" and "Eco". The device was also practically free after PSEG and NationalGrid rebates. Cons: I needed to run a C-wire since the thermostats only control heat in the selected rooms. Other: Not as premium as the Nest Learning Thermostat, but I still appreciate the design and display, especially considering the price.

Nonetheless very easy to install if using the Google home app. Can be challenging to use manually without the smartphone

Gives me a piece of mind that when I not at our lake home the temp is holding strong. Also nice to be able to turn the heat up on our way to the lake. I have had zero issues with this unit

It has all the features of the nest learning thermostat except for schedule learning and a rechargeable battery. I returned this unit to get a nest learning thermostat, due to preference. If you don’t care about schedule learning, this smart thermostat will work for you.

Posted .Hi there, Bret. Thanks for trying out the Nest Thermostat. We understand that having the “learning” feature is ideal for you. However, the Nest Thermostat doesn’t use Auto-Schedule. Instead, you can set a temperature schedule during setup and change it any time you want and the thermostat will still learn Time-To-Temperature. And with a temperature preset, you can easily set a specific temperature that you repeatedly use a bit faster than manually adjusting the temperature dial. Besides using ready-made presets like Comfort, Eco, and Sleep, you can create custom presets. If you want to make changes to the temperature but there’s a hold, the app or thermostat will tell you that you need to end the hold first. Google Nest worked on giving our customers a beautiful, yet affordable and easy-to-install thermostat for households that are interested in a smart thermostat without going over the budget.

Good feature letting you control it from your phone while being away. Only con i could see is whether or not it continues to work if there is a disruption in your internet service

You can still use the Nest Thermostat to control your system even without Wi-Fi and it will function as a traditional thermostat which you can control manually from the device itself. However, you won't be able to utilize its other features such as remotely controlling the thermostat using the app.

Unlike the E, this thermostat is managed entirely within the Google Home app, not the Nest app. I liked the Nest app (and it offered additional integration with our electric provider), but I understand the reason for the change. This thermostat looks great and has many nice features (such as showing the weather, temperature presets for easy scheduling, etc) that the E did not have.

Decided not to go with another learning thermostat and went with this one. I am SO happy with this new thermostat! It is a night an day difference when regulating the temperature, and I’m very happy with this purchase.

She reports loving being able to adjust the temperature when the house is cold while still being in bed. We use the scheduler to make sure we wake up to a nice feeling house and the temperature puck helps make sure our newborn's room is the right temp and runs the system to keep her comfy and sleeping well. Worth every penny for an upgrade from a basic thermostat.

Integrates with Google home and assistant perfectly. The mirror finish takes a little getting used to seeing. I think it would be better with a different finish. Was not as easy to install as they make it look, but it wasn't hard either. I did 2 and both have me the same error code. Overall happy with them. Very insightful info on run time and energy use.

Posted .Nest Thermostat is able to be set to Heat, Cool, Heat /Cool, or Eco mode — here’s how:
1. Tap the touch bar to access the Menu.
2. Slide your finger to Temperature mode, then tap to select.
3. Slide your finger to the mode you want, then tap to set it.
