Excellent smart thermostat. Has basic functionality, connects to WiFi and and smart home for routine and remote settings. The low profile and design looks amazing, especially if you can avoid having to use a backing plate to cover a larger existing thermostat cut out. Minus one star because it won't work with Google's remote temperature sensors.

Works great, although took some time to set up with the app. We like the schedule feature and the ability to change the settings remotely.

This package comes with everything you need, and installation was simple. I did have one question about the wires, so I went on the support chat and a representative walked me through the entire process as I was doing it. Super easy, saving a ton of money on my energy bill

Easy setup for my home system since I use other Google/Nest devices. It can be controlled from my phone and other devices and even your Amazon devices will control it too. You can schedule anyway you want and will also sense if you are home or away. One thing that was hard to find was that it had a Fan schedule too instead of saying always have the fan running you can say make sure it runs for 30 minutes every hour to recirculate air in your home.

Before I had a very old system, this is way better and very good at keeping my air at a good temperature to save me money but also be comfortable. I love that it talks to my google home and that there is an app that shows me data and I can control while I’m away. I also love how minimalistic it looks.

I like the older version better. The one where the entire outside housing spun. I'm not a fan of the touch sensor on the side. It still works and the whole reason to get it is for wifi connectivity anyways.

Google has issue with firmware on install. Must trick the thermostat and tell Google during install that you are not installing the C 24v common wire. If not, you will get an error code. You can "update" wiring after install to get it accurate but if told correctly to Google on install you will be extremely frustrated.

We bit the bullet and got programmable thermostats. While they work pretty well, their performance is inconsistent when it comes to "pre-warming", in other words, raising the temperature in the main living area to a certain temp BY a certain time or starting to raise it to that temp AT a certain time. In other words, sometimes it will start pre-warming before our appointed 5:45 am time so that it is at the prescribed temp when 5:45 rolls around, and sometimes it starts the warmup AT 5:45, so that it is not up to temp til 6:00 or a bit later. Sort of annoying, and Google sent out replacements that did the same thing.

Ended up having to return it as it was not compatible with my HVAC system even though Google told me it was based off my wiring. HVAC company came out after I tried to set it upyself and they confirmed with me that it is not compatible. Recommend asking a HVAC pro before purchasing it but this was a solid thermostat

Love this! We got it recently as we had updated two of the thermostats in our house and decided to finish the project and switch the one upstairs. It is sleek and fancy, compared to that old rectangle! I love that on this model, you don't turn the face, just run your finger across the side to adjust the temp. The only downside for me was the google home app. I actually like the Nest app better and would have liked to connect all our smart thermos to that instead.

i think the budget version (this one) is perfectly acceptable and did everything i needed it to. i bought this for my brother and set it up. i have the higher-end version and i can't tell any difference. it's great and the app is great

Easy to install and easy to use. It works. I can set the temp from anywhere and have the house ready when I get home.

I have enjoyed this unit very much so far. I had issues when i set it up as it was not working. I called them for help and they asked for a photo of the setup and let me know all was setup properly. They had me reset the unit and it worked perfectly. With their help, all was good. I love being able to set temperatures and activating the system from my phone. A great addition to home automation.

The nest thermostat is overall a great product! I do get annoyed where it tries to follow your schedule too much. So say for example if I am home on a day where I’m supposed to be at work and I adjust the temp manually, it would eventually go back to the temper it’s at when I’m not home. Probably an easy fix if I go I yo the app but it is annoying at times. Other then that it’s a great buy easy to set up and easy to use.

This might be the best upgrade in my house so convenient it’s unbelievable

Great thermostat. Program it from your phone. Set it to lower temp gradually to go easy on HVAC system. So nice - refreshes the house while I’m sleeping. I can check temp while I’m gone to make sure dog is ok inside house. Well worth the money. Looks attractive too. Got the base plate to cover up where old thermostat was so didn’t need to patch and paint. Looks great.

Overall easy to install and set up application. This is not a touchscreen, and it can be tricky to get the hang of navigating the seamless scroll bar on the side to toggle to different zones. Looks really nice in the room.

Easy Install and Setup! Took less than 30 minutes for a first timer.

Easy to install, I'm not a HVAC person, this is my second Nest Thermostat as my dog ate the first one, you read that correctly, right off the wall.

I bought two of these when they came out on Nov 1, 2020 to upgrade from old honeywell programmable sensors. I have two (2) 24V wire connections: 1 red and 1 white for running my oil furnace. When I first installed them, I didn't see a problem with them, but soon discovered that they were leeching the battery to run. Fortunately, I could still return them and get money back on my card due to the extra time on the holiday return window. However, it took over a month to see this problem and by that point you wouldn't be able to return them under the 15 day policy. I ended up splurging and getting the 3rd Generation Nest Learning Thermostat. It's only been running for a couple of days now, but I have them installed upstairs and downstairs and I'm not seeing any battery leech. If you have 3 wires, you'll probably be fine as you can use one as the C-wire to power your unit. But if you're like me with only 2 wires then my recommendation is to stay away from this model.
