We are older and the thermostat is on the second floor and it’s so easy to regulate the heat and cold from my phone!

PROS 1- Great Price 2 - Easily installation in the Google Home App. CONS 1- It does not come with Nest screwdriver. If I did not have the one that came with my first nest I would be very frustrated. 2- I would prefer to have it in the Nest App as opposed to the Google Home App. The set up is only for Google Home for what I see so I can only control it via Google Home.

Perfect small smart thermostat

I tired using the Nest app, but it looks like this directs to the Google Home app. Didn't realize it kind of looks like a mirror when not displaying information - very nice!

New comments are always appearing on the unit. For instance, why is it imposing PEAK HOURS on me?? I don't thing this unit is a "learning thermostat"; it's completly baffling!! I'm marking 'YES' I would recommend; but, I'm not really sure I would!!

Your Nest Thermostat comes with the Savings Finder feature that offers suggestions in the Home app to adjust Eco temperatures, Sleep temperatures, and temperature schedules for your Google Nest Thermostat. And the recommendations you get may be provided by this feature. These temperature adjustments are subtle, so you should still feel comfortable while your thermostat helps save more energy over time.
Also, you may be getting recommendations from the Nest Renew feature. Nest Renew can use your Nest thermostat to prioritize cooling or heating when it’s less expensive, if you have an electric cooling, electric heating, or solar panels, and time-of-use (TOU) peak pricing from your energy provider. If you are enrolled in a utility's TOU plan, Nest Renew will use your TOU rate to prioritize heating or cooling when it's less expensive.

Basic capabilities; check compatibility

After spending much time trying to make the wiring work; finally searched on internet to find out unit not compatible with multiple setups including mine. I already had a Nest gen 3 on another zone and agent stated this would would work. Returned and replaced with more expensive gen 3. Definitely recommend gen 3 as prefer screen and rotary/push control of gen 3 over this unit.

Just ensure your system is compatible. Install was a breeze if you know how to use a screwdriver and follow directions.

Especially with the rebates available in many states (cost ~$50 here in Massachusetts with an instant rebate when purchased through BestBuy).
