Posted .Hi there, Balltce. Thanks for writing us feedback about the Nest Thermostat. We’re glad you like its remote functionality in the Home app, but we’re sorry to hear that the batteries run out every two weeks.
Since you repeatedly get low battery messages from your thermostat, you may need to check the C wire connection or install a C wire to provide consistent power to your thermostat and prevent the backup batteries from draining. Some systems, including heating-only, cooling-only, zone-controlled, and heat pump systems, require a C wire or the Nest Power Connector.

Had to turn off the 5GHz. If you ever have to reset it to get it to reconnect you will lose all of your usage history. One of the dumbest things is that the temp set point is the large number on the display and the actual temp is the small number. Most people see the thermostat from a distance and assume that the large number is the actual temp and it should be. The indoor temp is always relevant but sometimes the set point is not, e.g. when it is cool enough outside that you do not need the A/C. As a thermostat it works fine.

Connectivity issues for Nest Thermostat may be caused by several reasons such as Wi-Fi network congestion, distance of the device from the router, wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or devices nearby and other Wi-FI settings. Dual band connection should be compatible with Nest Thermostat. 2.4Ghz is more stable compared to 5Ghz especially if there are a lot of devices connected to the same network at the time.
