Good design, the batteries should be rechargeable and recharged internally. Otherwise, everything is fine, but perhaps the look of a clock like a screen like the Nest Thermostat is missing.

Not good, not bad. If you’re on the fence on the $300 Nest or this one. Go with the $300. I had the $300 nest and it gave out after about 2 years, saw this one and thought it would be ok. It was, for the most part. The user interface is not as easy as the original and there is no additional thermostat support. I use to have a thermostat sensor upstairs and at the back of my house, now I have only the thermostat on the wall. Save your time and get the original Nest

The Google Nest Smart Programmable Wifi Thermostat is a solid option for the price. It’s easy to install, and the sleek Snow finish looks great in any home. However, if you’re planning to install it on a metal box, make sure to get the metal plate, as it’s required for proper installation.

I am very pleased with this purchase. It works seamlessly with the app and allows us to connect to our local energy company to get reward for energy conservation. Great buy!

Very easy to install. Take your time when programming it on the spp the first time. It will take about 30 minutes to program.

Really nice to be able to monitor and control the temperature remotely. It is very sleek and non-intrusive on the wall.

I think as far as smart thermostats can go, this was the easiest to install possible. It came with very clear cut instructions, there's a video available for you to watch that walks you exactly through the process even though a lot of thermostats are different it explains to you exactly what to do. Everything is labeled clearly, and it makes the process a lot less difficult than it seems for people who are unfamiliar with any sort of handiwork. It has fantastic features and saves money on our energy bill. Only wish that this had a lock feature where we could set time frames for the thermostat to lock with a pin code or something. I know the newer version features this, but I would think a software update could easily override that.

Bought this in place of unreliable Honeywell Smart Thermostat. When we bought our home in 19' we had a Honeywell Smart Thermostat. However it was a nightmare to setup *Had to do weird things with wifi on phone to get it to recognize the Honeywell wifi* This was a welcomed change and led my crossover into the Google Home Ecosystem! I set it up initally and have NEVER had to take it off the wall because it lost connection or would not connect. It works effortlessly with the Home App and is very easy to set up a schedule and tweak all of the settings on the App. Also super easy to control when away from home! The screen is NOT touch screen lol. The build in pressure buttons on the side is very neat and sleek since there are no visible buttons. It take a while to get use to swiping up and down for temps if you are adjusting the temp on the thermostat. A great introduction to Smart home tech. And it is SUPER reliable!

I mean I guess technically you don't have to go with Google as your tech daddy of choice, but whoever you choose, getting their smart thermostat is basically a no brainer, because of how much you can save on electricity / fuel; for an economy version i'd rank this at S-tier; seemless integration and connectivity

Works, but it is worth getting the better one. I had the other one and was being a little cheap and regret it. If I could exchange it I would. Oh well.

I am lucky enough to have an energy plan that gives me free energy from 8pm to 6 am. And as someone who loves to sleep with the air way down, it's so simple to just have the thermostat set to change at certain times each day. It's much easier to do that on the nest thermostat than with the old thermostat that may already be in your home. I gave up trying to program the old one and would simply try to remember to adjust twice a day. It'll come as no surprise to find that this did not work out well very often. But after the upgrade I've saved an average of 2 dollars a day on energy along with the simple peace of mind not having to worry about it and let the nest just do its thing. Be sure to pick up the backplate as well if you aren't 100% certain that you won't need it. Returns are easy with best buy so it's better to just have it but not need it rather than the other way around. Love how simple and easy to use the nest thermostat and I can't imagine going without it.

The Google Nest Thermostat is very easy to manually operate and control, but it doesn't offer a ton of smart features compared with other smart thermostats and it lacks the ability to “learn” your behaviors and routines.

this smart thermostat keeps the house in the temp range all year without me having to switch between heat and cool.

Easy to install, great for controlling your HVAC especially if you have a fixed schedule or if you are gone a lot. Nice to be able to control from outside the house while cleaning HVAC (disconnect pulled). Saves on electric bill
