This smart thermostat has been a great addition to our home! We can control and view the temp anywhere from our phone or other Google devices and the system monitors our activity to more efficiently bring the home to a comfortable temperature while remaining eco efficient. My electric bill has not gone up or down but my house is much more comfortable than before. Since my dog stays home during the day, I like being able to adjust the temp while at work. The only problem we had was in the beginning. The online system compatibility test did not stress we needed a C wire. We had to call an HVAC friend to help complete the set up but once that was done, the system has been nothing short of great!

If you really just want this for some scheduling and light smart home control, it accomplishes that well for a good price. This works best if you set your schedules up and never touch it again. Physically using it is a bit finnicky. Also, it does work on battery alone but a C wire is ideal and worth running if not a major hassle. It is not touch screen, which it tells you but will likely confuse people unfamiliar (roommates, family, guests, etc). If you want something very comprehensive get the pro or an ecobee/Honeywell.

Easy to adjust temp on app, learning curve on device, but easy once you figure it out! Great for someone who uses mobile technology regularly, may be harder for people who aren't as familiar with technology

Needed to replace my first gen Nest thermostat and this one was easy to install and works great.

Surprisingly easier to use than I expected pretty much without even trying I've already saved money or not my energy cost and like I said I haven't really set things up on a schedule yet very happy with the purchase should have done it years ago

It works well and is relatively inexpensive when you compare it to some of the other smart themostats on the market. This one doesn't have the auto learning feature which was on my previous Nest though I didn't miss it. I would rather program it myself anyway.

Instructions for installation were clear, and I was able to follow even while messing up the labeling of wires. Taking the picture like it told me before installing, allowed me to find my issue after having only the heat work. The device seems to work great! The only issue is that it doesn't seem to use the air on full blast, instead slowly lowering the temp over time. My old thermostat did things differently, apparently.

Purchased this version after having the pro version for years. The reason I downgraded to this is because the battery on the pro gave up on me and wouldn’t charge. I don’t have a c wire to my thermostat so the battery wouldn’t hold anymore and started turning off my A/C unit when the battery would randomly give out. I like this version better because it allows for replaceable batteries.

My in-laws had troubles reading and using their old thermostat (which still needed to be switched from heat to cool). So, I installed this updated version of the thermostat I have been using for the last few years. It was easier to install than I remember and now I can control their HVAC for them. No more accidentally setting it to an insane temperature and then just dealing with it because they don't want to be a bother. Now, I just set it at a range I know they both like and walk away. No need to swap from heat to cool, it does it on its own. And if they feel uncomfortable, I can remotely change the settings for them.

I love being able to set each day to the temperatures I want and it is easy to program and I'm even able to to have multiple temperatures set in a single day! I can even control the thermostat from the google home app on my phone which is so convenient.

Great little thermostat for it's abilities. If you don't know anything about electrical or HVAC, I wouldn't recommend installing. I had to hook up an extra wire to thermostat and also check to make sure that wire was hooked up to the correct terminal in the indoor AC unit/evaporator. Google didn't explain any of this really, cause there is possibility of electric shock messing with that stuff. It wasn't plug and play for me. But for those who are willing to do a little research and are kinda handy it won't be bad. Being able to set the temp to change at certain times is very nice. Also not having to get up go to thermostat to change temp is great too.

My first experience with a smart thermostat, and it was great! App guided installation was quick and easy and integration with my existing Google Home/Google assistant is awesome ("OK Google, set the heat to 72 degrees"). Its easy to setup heating/cooling schedules and the side touch controls are relatively easy to use once you get used to them. I needed to do some wall repair when I removed the old thermostat, since this one was so much smaller and this unit does not come with a trim kit. Total cost was well under $100 after local utility rebate which is what made me pull the trigger. Highly recommended.

Impressive! I’ve always used the programmable ones from the big box store but tried this one and it works great and I like the app.

It's extremely easy to use. You can control it from your phone. The only issue I've had was finding a wire to connect it directly to a power source so that I don't have to change the batteries every month.

Our home has two zones and a heat pump for HVAC. I installed two of these thermostats and the process was made easy given the well documented instructions and numerous instructional videos available. The units can be individually programmed through a phone app to cover night, day, home, away times and temps. Also, the temps can be adjusted remotely from the app. The user interface is intuitive. There are rebates available through most every energy company. Google did a great job designing these and I highly recommend them.

Upgrading from a builder installed Honeywell thermostat to the Google Nest was a major improvement. The installation was easy. Lesson learned: Cut the bare portion of the red wire when you remove the old one and install the new Nest. If by any chance the red wire contacts another wire, you will blow out the fuse in your attic unit. It is low voltage so no harm done, but it is a pain to replace. The basic installation was extremely easy. I did not use a base plate to install the Nest, just drilled into the sheet rock/stud and it worked fine. Filled and repainted the holes left by old thermostat. Programming it was easy using an iPhone. It is nice to be able to make adjustments using the phone. App is good, but you may have to poke around a bit initially until you figure out where all the key controls are.

Make our life easier to control temperature at beach house.

I had the higher end one before so I am partial to that one. It was much easier to operate than this one. This was easy to install and I use my app to adjust the temp. I would recommend the higher end one but this is good for budget means.
