Hi there, thanks for sharing your feedback with our support team. We're sorry to hear about the poor experience with the connectivity and power issues with Nest Wifi.

Your Nest Thermostat gets its power from your HVAC system’s wiring. There are cases where these wires can't deliver enough power to support the Nest thermostat's features, then they start draining the batteries and disconnect from your Wifi network. In such cases, installing a common(C) wire between your HVAC and Nest thermostats can resolve the battery drain problem.

Should the points we provide not resolve the issues you informed us, then we may need to have a closer look to find out what may be causing it and work on a resolution to improve your experience. We're ready to assist you if you could visit our page: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

Hi there Epson, thanks for letting us know about the issue. We're sorry to hear that the Nest Thermostat didn't work with the heating and cooling system for your home. Nest Thermostats work with most 24 Volt heating and cooling systems. However, to ensure whether your system is compatible or not with Nest Thermostat, we recommend trying out the Compatibility Checker tool on our support page: https://store.google.com/us/widget/compatibility/thermostat Alternatively, you may also speak to our support team, and we'd be happy to entertain any questions or concerns you may be having about our Google Nest products here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Furthermore, if the extra cable needed for your Nest Thermostat is a common (C) wire, we recommend checking with a Nest Pro technician to check your system and install the common (C) if needed. There are cases where your system´s wires can't deliver enough power to support the Nest thermostat's features, then they start draining the batteries and disconnect from your Wifi network. In such cases, installing a common(C) wire between your HVAC and Nest thermostats can help deliver enough power and resolve the problem.

For any other support needs you may be having with Nest Thermostat, please consider contacting our support team here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

Hi there, we appreciate you for taking the time to share your feedback with us about the Nest Thermostat. We can imagine how difficult it can be if your thermostat stopped working, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience this could have caused.

Nest thermostats power issues may occur when your system wires can't deliver enough power to keep the thermostats charged up. As a result, they start draining the batteries and disconnect from your Wi-Fi and sometimes. Poor Wi-Fi connectivity can also cause the battery to drain faster. Your Nest thermostat uses the voltage from your system’s wires to keep its internal battery charged. If the power to your system is switched off or there’s a blackout, the battery has enough capacity to keep working for a while but will eventually run out. Your thermostat will also turn off features like Wi-Fi to preserve battery life before it must turn off completely.

Your experience means a lot to us, and we’d like to help you with further isolation and troubleshooting. Please visit us at your own convenience here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

      Hi Matt,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. We´re sorry to hear of the Wi-Fi disconnection and power issues you are experiencing with your Nest Thermostat.

Low battery and no power issues may occur when the heating and cooling wires for your system can't deliver enough power to keep the Nest Thermostat charged up. As a result it starts draining the batteries and disconnects from your Wi-Fi. And sometimes, the Wi-Fi connectivity can also cause the battery to drain as it can't charge up at the same time it consumes power. Installing a common (C) wire between your HVAC system and Nest Thermostat can help resolve the Wi-Fi disconnection and power problems. We recommend contacting a Nest pro technician to check if your HVAC system might already have a common wire installed, and install one if needed. For more information on the common wire, you can go visit this page: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9251212

We're always here to assist you with any issue you may encounter with our products. If you'd like us to take a look at the issue and help resolve it, you can reach out to us at Google Nest support page here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

Hi Adam, thanks for the feedback to let us know of your experience with using the Nest Thermostat. It’s unfortunate to learn you ran into this issue.
