I have 2 nest thermostats and this is the cheaper of the 2. I would not buy this one again because I feel the other thermostat works better.

Product malfunction. After 2 hours on chat and trouble shooting this was determined by nest. I wanted them to send a replacement but they wanted to only send base.. was disconnected after first hour and had to redo the entire troubleshooting to end in the same disappointing place.. awful

I'd say the quality of this Nest thermostat is plastic, that belongs in a child's room. You can't really put this in a formal room.

Works well, great features and benefits. Simple installation

Nest is not as compatible like I was told. Depending on your present thermostat not that easy to install. I still don't have mine installed.

Two things- customer service was terrible and took absolutely forever to get through to someone. Also, it stated that based on my wiring configuration that it was compatible with the thermostat. It wasn’t. There are some inconsistencies that need to be ironed out before I even think about another smart stat. I wanted to love this thing but it wasn’t my time. Build quality was great though- hence the two stars.

You can't run just the fan -- must be in either cool or heat mode. Ridiculous

This does what it is supposed to do, but disappointing that it costs more than the Honeywell for no extra features.

Works for a little while then the wifi chip went out. I had to use warranty to get it fix

The Nest thermostat did not work well in our situation. The thermostat is upstairs, and we normally only go upstairs at night and in the morning. Therefore it really does not now when we are in the house and all the automatic features do not work. It may work well in another situation.

Nest doe not advertise this but their units will not work with older homes that do use all of the HVAC wires. If yoy look at your wiring and you have unused wires, NEST WILL NOT WORK. My home was built in 1995; I exchanged this for an ecobee 3 lite and I am in business.

Purchased and installed- Nest's compatibility checker said the thermostat would work with my system. Only after installation did the thermostat inform that it was incompatible with electric baseboard systems. Had to uninstall.

I feel the nest would be good for different tripe of systems but just was not good for mine

The nest would not charge and only displayed blinking lights and the icon of a house whether it was installed or plugged into a micro USB. Nest support determined it was a software defect and would need to be replaced. It also turns out that this unit does not have a replaceable battery like the other nest units.

This thing was not hard to install after a little research I was able to wire it up. I have a heat pump system so not hard but again researched. Work fine the first day A/C and heat came on. Then the temperature in Orlando Florida hit 40 degrees and everyone losses there mind, anyway set temperature on this thermostat to 75 degrees I wake up in the morning and the house is 59 degrees and this nest is saying it will take 2 hours to get to 75. The wife is looking at me crazy out the side of her face I come unhooked this nest thermostat and install the old thermostat and the heat is pumping like hells inferno im being sarcastic. Pack this #ish up and returned it. Thank you bestbuy for a no headache return I like techy gadgets but this one i can do with out looks great and way to much info and all i need is A/C and heat.

It doesn’t work for many thermostats. Make sure it works for yours

Nice easy hook up but did not work with furnace made a noise every time ac turned off

Programming the fan control is difficult and the operation seems to be random.

For the money, pay the difference and get the other nest thermostat.
