Not worh it buy the latest version, its more friendly

I did not think I would love this item as much as I do. It is so much easier to use than I thought. I love the app!! It allows me to control the thermostat from anywhere. There is also a schedule you can use or you can just set it on eco and let it run the show. Awesome little item and the bonus is it looks great also!

After figuring out that my existing thermostat required a screw driver to split the case, all went by the book (of instructions). Set up was quick and easy. Learning mode populates a template that can be modified then copied to the active schedule. I think the deadband - the gap between the set temperature and the HVAC engaging is wider than my old thermostat. It means less on-then-off-then-on again thrashing. I highly recommend it.

I love the nest E. I already have the original nest ion my house, but i wanted an inexpensive remote thermostat for my tenant's apartment. The nest E is perfect - i love the price point and the features. I can set a range and lock it, so the tenant can set the thermostat to their comfort level, but only within the range i set for them. i can set it to any temperature form my phone, wherever i am. it's a great management tool.

Easy to install and very simple to use. Easy to control with phone and Google Home as well.

My Nest arrived with simple, concise instructions about how to install and set it up. I didn’t know if I could actually install a thermostat, but Nest made it so simple. You don’t even have to screw the wires into the ports, you just push a button and in it goes! Once connected, it took over and walked itself through set up. It asked me to choose language, location, etc. Once set up was finished, it checked the heat itself. When it was done I established settings like what temperatures I want during the night, day, when I’m home, or away. And that’s it! It’s super easy to set up. And I can control everything from my phone no matter where I am, or from the device on the wall. I love that I can warm up the house when I’m on my way home, even when I’m not coming and going on a regular schedule. I love my Nest, and have already recommended it to so many people.

I love my new Nest thermostat. I replaced a bulkier programmable thermostat and the Nest looks and work so much better. It's easy to change the set temperature from anywhere from my phone, and the Eco mode saves a lot of energy when we are at work/school during the day. Super easy set up, too!

I have had my nest e thermostat now for over a month and I love it. I have a w story home with 2 ac units. My family is downstairs during the day and upstairs at night. It did not take long for the thermostat to learn my habits and adjust the temp with out much effort from me. It works great with Alexa and google. Which is what I use to control the thermostat 90 % of the time. I love not having to run all over my house to change the temp. It talks to my xfinity security system. When I set the security for away it lowers the ac. I was considering the the regular nest but I'm the end I made the right choice. It blends in with the trim, and it does essentially the same thing as the more expensive nest. My only complaint is that the mounting bracket isnt included. The instructions say most homes do not need it. However mine did and the only way to get it is from nest themselves for 15 bucks. I went to the store and got a universal mounting bracket and that did the job.

The price with central point discount was fantastic. At first, the idea of an led screen on my white wall was very disturbing to me. When I saw this nest E, i feel in love. It is fantastic. Who ever design this should get an award. It is very minimal. Blend with my wall and the minimal theme of my home. I appreciate the frosted glass. Wow. I love love love.

I wanted a thermostat to work better than what I got from my programmable one. Plus, I wanted something to access from my phone. It works great.

I replaced my old 5 wire programmable thermostat and so far the Nest is working great.

Easy install. Had it mounted and programmed in about 30 minutes. Comes with a backing plate which covered non painted area from previous thermostat. Love controlling it from phone or thru Alexa. Nice muted look to thermostat and the display is easy to read.

I'm not sure about this thermostat yet. I don't like the large swing in temperatures that it allows and that setting is not adjustable. Yes, the furnace runs less often but it gets too cold and then too warm. They should allow you to adjust that setting. I'm concerned that in the summer with the large swing in temps it will allow the humidity to build up and it will become very uncomfortable. Also, the Home/Away Assist function seems to be hit or miss...mostly miss. It rarely detects that my wife and I are both away from the house when we are away so consequently the temperature remains at the "At home" setpoint. I like the looks of it and it was fairly easy to install.

This is the second Nest unit that we have owned. The first one was in our old house and we used it for over a year. The unit was the more expensive unit and save us on our heating and cooling use. We have bought our daughter’s family and our son’s family a new Nest unit.

This thing is a game changer! Because of our dynamic schedules, the traditional programmable thermostat never worked for us and we'd constantly be turning the heat up or down. The Nest has "learned" our patterns of coming and going and turns itself down for us when we leave the house and when we go to bed. It will also automatically pre-heat if it is expecting us home and I can adjust the temperature from my phone remotely up or down as needed. Also, I am terrible at DIY home projects and I installed two Nest E thermostats myself. I love it!

We had a Gen 1 Nest and couldn't get it to work so we sold it and used a programmable Honeywell for a few years. But when we discovered we had a bad circuit board in the furnace and had to have it replaced and decided to give the New Nest "E" a try as with an available local rebate from our utility company of 50% of the cost it only cost us $84.50. Works like a charm and the installation was super simple. I did go ahead and run a new wire from the furnace up to the Nest. It may have not been necessary but it was cheap to do, and I figured new circuit board and new stat, why not a new wire between them.
