This device is not compatible with various gas heating appliances (fireplaces, etc.) even though they have the correct wires and the Nest website will say it works. This is because it requires enough in-line voltage to charge itself, which is totally dependent on your system. It’s a surprise when you get the device home whether or not it will work. I used it in a different area of the house (central baseboard heat) as an afterthought rather than returning it. I prefer the original nest to this product due to larger array of compatibility.

I recently purchase the Nest Thermostat E, easy to install and so far is working perfectly. Connection to my WIFI ansd set up was very quick, the colored "tabs" made it easy to install from my old thermostat to the nest. Highly recommended!

I’ve only had this for a couple of weeks. But so far I like it. It was super easy to install and it can be installed without the backplate if you’re will to clean up the holes for your old thermostat. And it looks way better without the backplate. I’ve got mine connected to Alexa which if very convenient if you need to change the temp at night in bed. Just tell her what to set it to and done. No need to get uncomfortable. I haven’t tried the schedule learning yet because I don’t really have a set stfor when I’m not home. I just use the custom schedule and it works great for me. I haven’t received my first electric bill since installing so I don’t know if it’s saved me money yet or not. But being in Florida in the middle of summer, the ac is always on cause of the heat. So I’m not really sure if I’d notice anyways. All in all, I really like it. Looks good and works great.

Love my nest it was so easy to set up and I love how I can control it from my phone.

Love this thermostat! The online guide shows exactly how to wire it up, so it was easy to install. I love being able to change the temperature from anywhere I am from the app. Helps save energy with eco mode so we don’t use our unit when we don’t need to.

This is my first nest. I installed it my self. I like it!! it works better expected.

I LOVE Nest. My house is a nest home and I Love the clean and discreet look of this thermostat. Really easy to connect, super easy app usage, and can command as needed through my smart speaker. Nest is best!

Don't let the fact that this is the E-Series deter you. It performs great and there isn't all that much difference between it and the current (3rd Gen version). I bought this one for aesthetics, the white with a frosted front looks so much nicer than the metal ones. A few things to keep in mind. Despite it claiming you don't need a "C" or Common Wire, you really should. Yes it can tap into the furnace for power but this is how "Nest Thermostats kill furnaces" as you may have read online and that is the only reason why. My biggest complaint is the wall panel, the wires slide into each of the slots but don't lock or screw in, they are just held in by the pressure of the wire. A better job could have been done there. Overall very happy with it.

Got this thermostat with a rebate offered by local utilities. This smart thermostat has been working very well. It is handy to be able to control and track the thermostat anywhere with a smart phone.

Easy installation and simple to use. Clean appearance is nice, too.

This unit has been great. Set it up once and forget about it. It is super easy to make changes or to return to normal settings. Easy to set everything up with just the simple app on your phone.

My partner and I were going back and forth on which smart thermostat to buy. Looking at reviews and videos, Nest thermostat e was picked. Easy to install and use. Access it anywhere in the world. I would recommend the Nest Thermostat E.

Glad to be able to find one less expensive, but unfortunately using a heat pump and A/C wouldn’t work. But made a great gift for my father in law. NY, just heat. Works great. Maybe needs some better WiFi connectivity

When we first moved into our new home, we immediately replaced the main floor thermostat with a Nest Learning Thermostat. Our home had two thermostats but we were debating on just leaving the upstairs thermostat to avoid the added expense of buying another Nest Thermostat. Black Friday rolled around and they had a great deal on the Nest E., Of course, it is not as nice as the Learning Thermostat, but in the end, it has the same functions and not the looks. Since it was going upstairs where there wouldn't be too much traffic from visitors, we decided to go with the E. It has been a great choice and love its functionality. If you have the money for the Learning Thermostat and care about the looks, do it. But if you are just looking for the functionality of a Smart Thermostat, the E will get the job done.

This thing is awesome. I was skeptical, my only regret is not buying sooner.

Ability to control from phone is worthwhile enough! Learns habits quickly.

Had for a year now. Setup was relatively easy. Monthly Nest Reports via email are handy / useful. We like the voice control via Google Home Mini. Got a great deal on it via rebate from Electric Company.

Excellent in every aspect and less expensive that it’s more capable older sibling. It’s simple to install yourself, the directions are simple as well. The functions and ease of use are spectacular. Solid product.
