This is my 2nd Nest thermostat. We just bought a small A-frame house up in the mountains, and have a very basic forced air system (no air conditioning). The Nest E Thermostat fit the bill for what we needed! I love having control over the temperature in the house while we're away so we can keep our pets comfortable! Super simple to plug in, log in and operate from the wall unit or from my iPhone! Plus, the dusty white display almost makes the unit disappear on our wall. We love us some Nest!

This thermostat is great. Easy to install, works great with my phone and iPad app, well made and looks great on the wall.

From what I understand, this thermostat may not be compatible with as many units as the premium model, but if yours is compatible with this, there's no reason to skip this one. Sure, it doesn't look as nice, but if budget is a concern here, this one still looks solid. I've done very little interacting with the thermostat itself --- I use my phone most of the time. Extremely useful if I'm away from home longer than I expect, or if I want to have the apartment warm when I get back.

Simple to install and use. Love controlling my home temperature from anywhere and reduce my monthly heating and cooling bills.

For anyone looking for a smart thermostat that's easy to install and easy to program this is it. Even with no experience this was simple to install, 15-20 minutes at most. It will take some time to learn you patterns if you don't want to schedule but I just set a schedule. That being said be aware if you set it to ECO it will allow your house to get very cold, and it can take some time for it to warm back up. So I usually check the temp from my phone before I leave work to make sure its heating back up.

Love having these thermostats automatically set themselves to run the eco Away mode when it detects my phone leaving the house and then setting it back to Home mode when returning. I don't need the learning function since I work from home and don't have a very well defined schedule. The scheduling function works great, however trying to setup a schedule via the phone app is cumbersome. Setup via a computer is much easier. Installation was simple. Great addition to my smart home.

Really like this thermostat, I tried the Honeywell and had constant problems with it. Nest was a easy install but the first few days after setting it up I did have problems with the app saying my thermostat was offline even thought the thermostat said it was online. Im thinking it is server problems, that seems to be a common thing in smart thermostats from what I've read but everything thing is fine now. Will definitely invest in more Nest products; Nest Secure Alarm Kit.

It's works well and the easy to see numbers are cool. One complaint would be to have the actual temperature be the BIG number you see. Currently, it's only the smaller white number is the actual temp and the bigger blue or orange numbers are the heat or cool setting numbers. Very intuitive to use. Just make sure your phone and this are on the same wi-fi. I have a wi-fi with the 2.4 and 5.0 bandwidth and thought I picked the correct wi-fi only to discover after WAY too much time that both devices need to be on the same wi-fi. D'oh!

Bought for my techy brother who is a new homeowner and travels often. Allows him to adjust remotely, set preset schedules, or manual intervention as needed. Intuitive features and operation. Loves it.

It works very well. Easy to install and I can turn the temperature on my way home to keep electric costs to a minimum

I am really enjoying the best thermostat e. I really like connecting to it from my smart phone and managing the indoor temperature wherever I am! The on screen menu is easy to understand and it's even easy for my mother in law to use it and she does not use a lot of technology. The best part of this is the savings I get via Edison for managing the temperature throughout the year. If you purchase, check your city website or energy provider for there programs.

I know it's the cheaper version but it does all I expect it to. It works from the phone or the mini. Being that our thermostat is downstairs, we can control it without running to it, or even getting up. Lazy.
