I bought this because my Mother has it and loves it. I wanted to switch to an easier use thermostat that I would be able to use from my phone. However, our home runs with central air and oil heat and this thermostat did not have the correct connectors. I returned it and bought the other Nest which has all the connectors, one con is it doesn't come in the "matte white" so it does not blend in as well.

I got his for $75 off via a rebate from a statewide utility program. I wanted it because I believe there might be some issues connecting less sophisticated thermostats to WiFi networks based on the Orbi router from Netgear. Otherwise I definitely would have gone less expensive. This thermostat connects to the Orbi without issue, but if the thermostat drops from the network, it seems to (more often than not) require that the SSID be broadcast from the router if the thermostat is going to reconnect automatically. So, 4 stars, the loss due to cost, and the small network issues.

Very user friendly and even easier to install. Would totally recommend!!!

This product is amazing! It saves you money and makes it simple to adjust the temperature via smart phone or Google Home! "Hey Google - Set Temperature to 72º . Okay!" No need to get up in the night to change the thermostat! I got a rebate for the Nest from my power company and also got a $50 gift card for signing up for their Rush Hour energy program! Get one! It is easy to install and simple to use!

LOVE THAT ITS NOT COMPLICATED TO OPERATE AND SO EASY TO INSTALL

It was relatively easy to install in a newer home so no additional effort was needed past the wall mounting with 4 wires. Set up with self driven. It has a larger screen and it responds to their in home voice commands via "google home". AND Phone connect - with all their excitement...thought we may need to call emergency services. Great for any age user.

This thermostat is branded as the "entry level" version of the Nest Learning Thermostat, but I feel that this one is an improvement in many ways. The display is strikingly different and subtler, but is just as effective and not as jarring on the wall. Functionally, it is just as powerful. Of course, it does have more limited compatibility with HVAC systems, but overall, a really nice unit.

The thermostat was easy to install, easy to program, and works flawlessly!

If you live in an older apartment, check out this thermostat. No need for a C-wire and install took less then an hour. Tip for newbies, do the initial battery charge using the charging port. Did not care for the "learning" function. The first hot day of the year, the thermostat adjusted my AC and I could not get the apartment to cool down.

I really love the ability to control the temp in my house from anywhere. I hated having to go up to the main thermostat to check and reset the temp. Now if I'm a little warm, I can just turn it down from my phone. Also, this one is great...no need for the full version unless your AC/Furnace isn't compatible... great way to save money!

love how simple the connection was from my previous thermostat. The system works nice with my xfinity home setup to be controlled, However i mainly use the nest app to make the changes. Its very soft colored on the screen which is nice when its nighttime and love that it dims until you walk past. Great purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for a eco friendly version of the standard nest.

I have Nest at my vacation home and it works beautiful. I decided to add it to my primary home can it worked great for a couple of hours bit then my entire forced air heater stopped working, on the coldest weekend in a long time. As it turned out my older forced air heater did not like the new thermostat even though Nest said it was compatible. The product is great but be careful what unit you put it on. It was an expensive lesson.
