After installing this sensor it helps keep your desired temperature based on what the actual display on the main floor reads.

I had replaced the batteries, but still no luck so I ordered a new one. It works fine. (BTW, if this same thing happens to you where your thermostat doesn't recognize the sensor even after replacing the batteries, try resetting your thermostat before investing in another sensor. That was all mine needed. Wasted my money and don't need a second sensor.)
