We put this in our basement so that it wouldn't be so damned cold. It has helped TREMENDOUSLY in that effort, but it's missing features. It should have a motion or illuminance sensor so that nest would know where most of the people are and switch automatically. Instead, I find myself fiddling with the app a lot.

Once you have your nest Thermostat installed you can put these sensors anywhere in your home. We use them to control manage the temperature in the bedrooms at night.

Excellent Option to Balance HVAC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Paired with the NEST Thermostat, the Nest Thermostat Sensor provides an option to control temperature in a remote location from the NEST Thermostat. I have read other reviews that mention one room may be cooler or warmer than the location of the sensor, I have found that the "monitored" locations better maintain the same temperature. So far so good.

Vital if you main thermostat is on another floor

I have it setup to automatically switch to the upstairs sensor at nighttime, no longer sleeping in an oven

Nest sensor a must have

I have a Nest thermostat downstairs and this sensor next to the bedrooms upstairs. Now I can see the temperature differences and decide which sensor control the HVAC system.
