Needed this to account for a room far from Nest
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This wasn’t difficult to setup, but I had a problem reaching it from the cloud with my preferred Nest until I tried connecting it to my other Nest thermostat. I was able to move the Sensor back to the original Nest without an issue after that. True test for me will be the winter heating season.

Not so good unless you want integration
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I kept multiple sensors next to each other they showed different readings. I wish it has humidity monitor and on display temperature. When I compared with other products I felt these are overpriced for the only feature called integration with nest thermostat.

I love Google/Nest!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this product. It sets the temperature in whatever area it’s placed in. The only drawback is that you have to tell your Nest thermostat when to use the sensor. It uses any one of four 6 hour blocks (early morning, daytime. evening and nighttime) so you can’t tell the thermostat specific times. Overall, I really like Google/Next products.

Great Nest Addition
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote temperature sensor was very easy to set up. I’m now able to better balance the ducts in our home to maintain consistent temperatures between the main floor and upstairs. Also able to change to use the upstairs remote sensor at night for control of the heating and cooling system.

Works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit does make a difference, the furnace fan stays on to circulate the air from our basement to the rest of the house, which I did before buying the sensor. Even though I always had the fan on the temperature is more even throughout the home now

Waste of money
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I came over to Google Nest from Ecobee and it's honestly been a nightmare. I purchased these sensors thinking they would enhance the experience, come to find out, they only monitor temperature. They don't detect motion or presence like the Ecobee ones do. The problem with this is I'll frequently be at home but not in the same room as the thermostat and the thermostat will switch into Away mode. This means it jacks the temperature way up and starts sweating me out. Google then decided to split support for the thermostat between the Nest and Google Home apps. Since I already was comfortable and familiar with the Nest app I kept it there. Now the latest Google Nest only supports the Google Home app and they randomly discontinued the 1st and 2nd generation of Nests. Had I not upgraded to the 3rd, my previous thermostat would've been end of life. I don't like the way Google makes these harsh pivots and decides when your device should stop working and if there's nothing wrong with your thermostat why they feel they have the power to just make it non-functional. Hard pass on anything Google going forward.

Posted .Hey there, Gadgeteer. Sorry the Nest Temperature Sensor wasn’t quite what you expected — regarding your Nest Thermostat changing temperature, you can enable phone location for presence sensing rather than motion to keep it just how you like it — here’s how:
1. Open the Google Home app.
2. Tap Settings and then Presence sensing.
3. Turn Allow this home to use phone locations on or off.

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked for about 10 months. Now won’t connect. We have tried to reset, uninstall and reinstall, reset to factory settings, reset modem. Nothing works. Disappointed. Other reviews showing this is a common problem. Maybe I can get it replaced? We’ll see

Scheduling Function could be better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this knowing the scheduling options were pre-defined based on other's review. The pre-defined schedules are Morning (7 to 11), Midday (11 to 4), Evening (4 to 9) and Night (9 to 7) everyday with no exception for the weekends. For me, it wasn't the optimal schedule but was not a deal breaker. I would give it 5 stars if the sensor scheduling were more robust.

Great addition
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a solid addition to your smart home (assuming it has a Nest Learning Thermostat). This sensor allows your thermostat to automatically consider rooms that may not be as cool as the rest of your home. I recommend it.
