  • Only connects on 2.4 GHz frequency in my house

    It will only stay connected to the app on the 2.4 GHz wi-fi frequency in my house. Had to turn off the 5GHz. If you ever have to reset it to get it to reconnect you will lose all of your usage history. One of the dumbest things is that the temp set point is the large number on the display and the actual temp is the small number. Most people see the thermostat from a distance and assume that the large number is the actual temp and it should be. The indoor temp is always relevant but sometimes the set point is not, e.g. when it is cool enough outside that you do not need the A/C. As a thermostat it works fine.

      Connectivity issues for Nest Thermostat may be caused by several reasons such as Wi-Fi network congestion, distance of the device from the router, wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or devices nearby and other Wi-FI settings. Dual band connection should be compatible with Nest Thermostat. 2.4Ghz is more stable compared to 5Ghz especially if there are a lot of devices connected to the same network at the time.

  • Stopped seeing wifi

    worked great for a year then all of a sudden one of them stopped being able to see the network. Of course it is 7 days passed its warranty so google says i have to buy another one to fix the issue. After searching the internet found out this is a known issue and that one of the latest patches bricked some of them. Would only buy again if know issues are fixed and google steps up for breaking there own product.
