Works, but it is worth getting the better one. I had the other one and was being a little cheap and regret it. If I could exchange it I would. Oh well.

I like the device more than the smart learning one. It’s simple and blend in with my home. You rarely notice that it’s there. I love the product, and it maintains the temperature and I barely notice the heater is on

easy to install with online video instructions. my previous thermostat was pretty huge compares to this NEST, so I have to get the back plate to cover up some screw holes etc. once installed, I love it.

The Nest seems to be working fine, though I haven't tested its "extras", eg programming it to change temperatures. Since our boiler tends to cause problems, I wanted a thermostat that would allow me to see problems when I'm out of town during the winter months. This will allow me to have the breakdowns fixed before the house (pipes) freeze. I like being able to check and change the temperature from my iPhone. I haven't a need for it to "learn" my heating habits. I'll eventually program it to adjust the temp several times per day, but I only desire set times and changes.

First things first you do need a C wire. My old thermostat did not have one. You pop off the cover on your furnace and the C wire is clearly labeled on the board. Go to a hardware store buy 5 wire thermostat wire and ran it in 15 mins and cost $20. It's not rocket science. You can do it. Google home app is fine. All my devices are on it so adding this to that app is better than using the separate nest app. IMO. Very clean looking. I actually prefer the non mechanical setup on the hardware. The other models that twist etc will just break eventually. Also, you bought a smart thermostat why would you touch it??? Overall great product, hopefully it is as durable and lasts for years like non smart thermostats. Time will tell.

Easy to install. Works well but I’m having issues. It often gets disconnected from network so I’m having to reset it daily.

I will never go back to a thermostat I can't control from an app on my phone. This small thermostat blends in with room decor and has a convenient touch screen. I took one star off because I think some of the features could be a little easier to use.

The thermostat does what is advertised - but it is not as simple to understand A/C unit compatibility as I had hoped. We have an old (1970's?) all-in-one packaged HVAC in an apartment, and the Nest sometimes doesn't have control of the unit fan. So even if the cooling or heating are off, the circulating fan stays on - I can't tell if this is caused by incompatibility or just my old A/C unit. Ultimately I like being able to use Google Home to control the thermostat wirelessly. The touch controls are average.

It's extremely easy to use. You can control it from your phone. The only issue I've had was finding a wire to connect it directly to a power source so that I don't have to change the batteries every month.

I love these. I have had both models. This is a simple smart programmable one where the other more expsensive one is a learning one. For the new house, this worked just fine. Looks sleek and nice against my white wall and it was easy to hook up to a dual zone, heat pump forced air furnace. No issues with it. The only buggy thing I have noticed is the App temp reading toggles back and forth when you try to set a temp. You have to tell it a few times for it to take. I think that's just a communication issue between the app and the thermostat though. Really, it's a minor issue and will probably be fixed with an update. Overall happy with it!

Purchased this for my 85 old year mother with dementia. Wanted a Thermostat that I could control to ensure that my mother is comfortable and not look so confusing to her. This Thermostat is set to show my mother the Heat or Cool that it is set at and what the current Indoor temperature is. It is also motion sensored as you walk by the Thermostat for viewing so sometimes my mother doesn't even notice it because when you walk by the Thermostat, it can just look like a plain Circle Disc on the Wall. When you stop to look at it, then you can see the information on the Thermostat. Love it. Works great. Now, I know my mother will be comfortable in regards to temperature.

Really easy to use and set up. I tired using the Nest app, but it looks like this directs to the Google Home app. Didn't realize it kind of looks like a mirror when not displaying information - very nice!

Love having the office warm before I arrive and being able to turn down the heat from anywhere if I forgot before I left. Easy installation and very simple set up that the app just walks you through.

We had the Nest Learning thermostat before. It always did odd things. Switched to this one and it's been great! Easy to read, easy to use, and the app is pretty easy too (Google Home app). Hooking it up was straight-forward and simple. The setup wasn't too bad, but it complained about the "C" wire. I reseated it and still had issues. I looked it up and saw that many people had to reset it to get it to work. Reset to factory settings, completed setup again, and it worked!

The thermostat is amazing and the design was great as well. The installation instructions were straightforward as well.
