Nice to look at, but…

The old Nest design where you turn the entire face of the thermostat is better. The side button is too sensitive and not easy to use. Having to use the Google app also is a pain. The old Nest App worked, looked better, and was easier.

The new Nest Thermostat is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your Nest devices can be set up and controlled in one place.

I’ve had previous versions from Nest, but this one using the Google Home App to control is way more difficult to manage. When I want to temporarily change the temperature, it’s impossible to get it back on the schedule when I’m done with the temporary temp.

It’s set at 75 then at 7 it changes to 79 and then around 8 it changes to 82. I always change it back since I start feeling the difference in temperature. Already tried deleting the eco saving mode and it always go back to the default

We recommend resetting your Nest Thermostat to fix the issue. This will erase all data and you may need to set it up again. To reset, go to Settings > and then select Factory Reset . Your thermostat will ask you to confirm your choice. Once you’ve confirmed, your thermostat will take a few moments to reset.

You can not manually set it up either. Researched and have heard this is a common problem. Went with Ecobee premium and no issues.

Posted .Hi there, Combs. Sorry you ran into trouble connecting your Nest Thermostat to your Wi-Fi network — we understand how frustrating that can be. Here are a couple of troubleshooting steps to get your device back on track:
1. Check for a W5 help code: If your thermostat can’t see any nearby Wi-Fi networks, including your own, you may have a W5 issue. To access Network settings, press the thermostat ring and open the Quick View menu. Then, select Settings and turn the ring until Network appears. If you see an Error - nest.com/w5 message on your thermostat, go to Troubleshoot a Nest thermostat W5 code.
2. Restart your thermostat: On your thermostat, go to Settings and then Restart. After your thermostat has finished restarting, use the Home app to try to connect again.
3. Restart your router: Sometimes a router restart can get your network to show up on your thermostat.
