Posted .Hi there KBay, thanks for letting us know about the issue with your Nest Thermostat. It's unfortunate to hear that it's always disconnecting. Your Nest thermostat gets its power from your HVAC system’s wiring and requires a stable and constant 24 Volt supply. There are cases where these wires can't deliver enough power to support the Nest thermostat's features, then they start draining the batteries and disconnect from your Wifi network. In such cases, installing a common(C) wire between your HVAC and Nest thermostat is required and will help fix such issues. We recommend contacting a Nest Pro technician to help check your system and advise you whether your system will need a common (C) wire or not. It is very average but better looking for the price range. Only uses the google home app, I prefer the Nest app.

I can control my thermostat from my bed, or when I go out, before I get home. The only thing I didn't know, was that you need to buy in some cases the frame to hold it in place if you have one of those old thermostat. Highly recommend.

I don’t like the difficult programming without detailed instructions. They made it way too complicated. I have two in the house [2 furnaces & ac units] and too often they don’t acknowledge when I’m home or away properly.

I had the Nest 2nd gen (from before Google purchased Nest) and I expected it to allow me to set whatever schedule I wanted. I wouldn't have bought this if I had known this beforehand. A majority of the cost was covered by a rebate, so I didn't dislike it enough to return it given it didn't cost much.

This one won't let you add a secondary thermometer/sensor nor comes with the backplate, you would need to get a backplate separately. The only reasonable use case I see for this, would be to upgrade my rental home or something similar. If I'm effectively using this everyday, I would go with the higher model and get the rebates from my local energy provider.

Fantastic integration with Google Home and super convenient to have my thermostat automatically adjust to save power when I'm not home, and also to be able to control it with a voice assistant.

I’m able to use the app and control the temperature of my home when I’m away and you can also program it to specific settings.

You have to be careful during the installation when touching the low voltage wires. It can cause your AC to blow a fuse. You need to completely unplug your AC before installing.

Before this thermostat I just had a normal thermostat where you couldn't schedule when it would operate. It has significantly reduced my heating and cooling bills

But using the Google Home app makes it a little easier but its definitely not as user friendly.

Though the Nest Thermostat doesn't have a touch screen, you can use the touch bar on the right side to control your thermostat. You can swipe up to raise the temperature, swipe down to lower it, and tap to confirm. The display will show you how many minutes until your desired temperature is reached.
- Tap the touch bar to bring up the menu.
- Swipe up or down to select an option.
- Tap the touch bar again to confirm your selection.

Must download and use Google Home app. Had several G-mail accounts. If I did not yet have one, would have been a hassle.
