This is no exception. Google nest video doorbell died within a few months. Google nest temperature sensor died after a year. This thermostat needed to have a power module sent to me by google (they offer it free because they know they screwed up on the design). Finally got that figured out no thanks to their terrible installation instructions (ended up watching video on y-tube to get it right). Wifi function worked for about a month. Now no matter what i try it reduses to connect to the wifi. The app is useless, their tech support online and in app is a joke. Save your money and buy an Ecobee.

It is difficult to initially set up and was finicky without the app. Also if your initial spot is lower on the wall, you will see the LED illumination lights for the screen.

Very Good Thermostat

With weather changing we will turn down heat or air and forget and be in bed and being able to change the temp from bed is amazing.

It had a very hard time connecting to my wifi. Took a very long and frustrating process, not sure if something can be done about it.

Can't get it to work

My app keeps saying that it cannot connect and the last time I tried it said it is not compatible with the wiring at my house. Pain in the butt. I went to send it back and was informed that it was too late and the "return window" passed by 2 days. I have had several people try to do it so that took time, plus I am in the middle of moving and construction.

Giving it four stars because it seems you can put a pass code on this revision unlike the old one. It’s a bit harder to figure out how to use compared to the old one as well.
