Nest thermostat

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It works nice, a little difficult to program, but the thermostat was easy to install following their instructions, but needed to understand your ac/heater wiring, additional this unit once loaded on my phone app for nest has to be reinstalled each time I want to use the app.

I can check on my new furnace and garage temps anytime of day. Highly recommend them. It was tricky getting set up. Had to have my electrician call for instructions. I could not have done that myself.

Connects to wifi and you can control thr temperature of your home from anywhere. You can set schedules and it uses your phone locations and a motion sensor to know when you are home. Turns the heat down automatically when nobody is in the hourse and turn it on when you show up.

Great Value for Same Function and Style

The Oringinal Nest thermostat (2nd or 3rd generation) is still the best one out there in terms of functionality, style, and intuitive use. So I would actually give this a 3 out of 5 stars. HOWEVER, the fact this is about $200 dollars cheaper on sale then the Orginal and has all the same functionality in the app and on the nest (plus some people may enjoy the look).

The way it works is a little different than the prior nest thermostat I had but it was easy enough to figure out. It was super easy to install.

I do have the Google smartspeakers in my home. But I figured "what the heck?" Worst case is if I don't need it, then I can return it. Well, I've been using it for over 6-Months now, and now that I've had it, I can't live without it. The joy of just calling out to my speakers and telling Google to change my room temperature is a boost to quality of life. Especially for someone like me that has an apartment that changes dramatically in temperature over 1 degree. I highly recommend this to everyone.

Looks Nice and Works Well

I had the Learning Nest Before and it was amazing. Never had an issues with the Nest App, programable instantly and connected to my Wi-Fi no problem. This product does not connect to the Nest App, it only uses Google Home but it disconnects every week. The Nest is still connected to the Wi-Fi but the App just disconnects. Other than that 1 issue, i LOVE It.

I set it up for my elderly parents and they love it. My Dad can ask Google what it is set at and tell it to lower the temp and then 30 minutes later when my mom is freezing she can turn it back up. This thing works great. It walked me through step by step on the wiring. Our house was built in 1986 so I was worried the wiring might be different but they had it all covered. It is easy to adjust and program manually or across the Google Home app.

Once you get it figured out, its simple and quite nice. It has a side touch bar to access the menu's and it lights up a little bit when you walk by it. Its very nice but if you dont have a c wire in your previous thermostat, you will have to get a c wire adaptor to use but otherwise very good.
