I works fine. I had some trouble programming it at first but i mostly have it figured out now. I had a different one in our last home that i really liked more but was unable to get it to work in my new home so i changed to this brand. It works as advertised and the price was fair.

PRETTY; BUT HARD TO INSTALL AND CONTROL MANUALLY

Even if it did work well by controlling it with a cell phone, it was difficult for us to adjust temperature by rotating the "invisible ring" at the edge. It does look good - but we ultimately had to replace it.

We designed the Nest Thermostat to provide a more simplified interface. Apart from the touch bar on the right side, Nest Thermostat is designed with ease of use in the Home app, even when you’re not at home to change the target temperature, select a mode, use temperature presets, change thermostat settings and a lot more.

The ability for the thermostat to change temps when no one is home to save on our power bill is what sold us. We love it does that automatically after we setup that feature.

Given my frequent work-related travels, the convenience of easily activating the away mode ensures energy efficiency during my absence. Upon returning, the ability to promptly adjust the temperature allows me to come home to a comfortable and welcoming environment.

If you're not concerned with auto temp adjusting from the Gen3, this is the thermostat for you. Looks great, don't even notice the plastic casing vs. the metal on the Gen3. The mirror face provides a cool look to the room. Definitely prefer the side touch navigation over the twisting, turning and pushing on the Gen3. Well worth the price point, especially if you have multiple thermos in the house. Only gripe is you can't use it on your Nest app. So, CO2/Smoke on the nest and thermos on the Google Home - but I'll survive.
