Check with your HVAC before purchasing

HVAC company came out after I tried to set it upyself and they confirmed with me that it is not compatible. Recommend asking a HVAC pro before purchasing it but this was a solid thermostat

Nest programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat

They set it up in my phone and I can control from there. It has started to lose Wi-Fi connection and the Wi-Fi is on in the home. Thats the only problem I have. So the geek squad will come back and show me the way to success like always.

Your Nest thermostat gets its power from your HVAC system’s wiring. There are cases where these wires can't deliver enough power to support the Nest thermostat's features, then they start draining the batteries and disconnect from your Wifi network. In such cases, installing a common(C) wire between your HVAC and Nest thermostats can resolve the battery drain problem.

Really convenient thermostat

Set it to lower temp gradually to go easy on HVAC system. So nice - refreshes the house while I’m sleeping. I can check temp while I’m gone to make sure dog is ok inside house. Well worth the money. Looks attractive too. Got the base plate to cover up where old thermostat was so didn’t need to patch and paint. Looks great.

I’m a bit of a penny pincher so knowing that this device is able to detect my presence and adjust accordingly brings me comfort. Also I would imagine my carbon footprint is reduced thanks to this device’s presence setting.

I can schedule it, control it from my phone, and is compatible with google home/mini. Bonus points for it looking awesome, having smooth controls and being very very user friendly. Side note: both my parents have the google learning thermostat. As far as I can tell, the actual learning is the only feature this device doesn’t have. I am glad I went with this model and saved the money.

This will by default correct to a more appropriate level. I like the fact also that if I’m away from home that I can change it on my cell phone. I need to get more things that can be associate or connected with this like the front door, TV volumes, and other things like that

Smart thermostat

I still haven't figured out how to work the actual thermostat, but since i can use my phone to change what I need to, I don't ever have to touch it. It's VERY small which i like, it blends in well

But I got one for my mom and she loves it. I love how it's so small and blends into the wall and looks like a cool space age piece. I love that now my mom is able to control the temperature of her house on her phone and I feel that Google Nest is so user friendly to set up and she's able to figure it out on her own.

Not as great as other products

This does not connect to the nest app that has more feature than the google app does. You must install with google app which is very limited in functionality. The overall setup was a little difficult even with directed guidance in app. Felt it always disconnected from google app and could not be recognized. Had to keep going through the process. The cheapness is also found in the overall interface of thermostat. Not easy navigating with finger on side. You pay for what you get here. It does work but not necessarily the way you would want it to. Save the frustration and get better nest device if you are a google smart home user.

Using the Google Home app provides you with a lot of benefits including access to Google's trusted security platform and access to other Google tools. It provides you with seamless integration with your other Google devices. And if you find it hard to navigate the thermostat from the unit itself, you can control the thermostat with the Home app even when you’re not at home so you can change the target temperature, select a mode, use temperature presets, change thermostat settings and a lot more. Lastly, It’s important to make sure that the thermostat is getting enough power from your system wires as the connectivity issue of your thermostat is related to power issues. If your HVAC unit can’t supply enough power, the thermostat battery will start draining, and this results in your thermostat limiting its features such as Wi-Fi connection to preserve the battery. The resolution may be to install a common (C) wire in your system to deliver constant power to the thermostat. The power resolution will also help fix the connectivity issue. We recommend contacting a Nest Pro technician to check your system first and install a common (C) wire if needed.
