My folks are in their 70s and are not too keen of anything that’s touch screen. However, they’re able to learn and use this thermostat. It really does help when you can cool down the house from your phone in a remote location.

My furnace required an additional power adapter to install for the thermostat to work. Other than that, works great. I can control the temperature from anywhere.

I like being able to work it from my phone as well. It wouls be nice if the vanity plate came with it but i guess its not always needed for everyone.

Easy to install and easy to use. I especially like being able to adjust it remotely. If I am going to be away for a few hours I turn the temp up or down, and then I turn it up or down 20 minutes before returning.

Picture shows a white face, but it is actually a black/mirrored face. Does NOT, AND I REPEAT NOT, blend in with white wall. Outer ring is white, or whatever color option you choose. Additionally, now that these are "Google Nest" branded thermostats, you MUST use the google assistant app to set up and control these. I Replaced an original Nest (pre-google/nest) unit and the original Nest thermostat app was MUCH nicer and intuitive to use. In addition, the old Nest used a flat lithium battery and had a micro-usb port to charge it in an emergency. The new google-nest unit uses rechargeable AA batteries and has no charging port for them. FYI, the wifi transmitter in my original nest thermostat failed after about 4 years, which is why I bought this one.

The new Nest Thermostat is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Also, it uses 2 standard 1.5 V AAA alkaline batteries that you’ll need to replace when they get low. You’ll get notification on the thermostat and in the Home app when the batteries start to get low.

Great for multiple reasons

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this as mine thermostat is controlled by evergy and they are shutting it off and on so much my ac unit outside burns up contactors, this will allow me to monitor my temp when not home and if trouble occurs know i meed to get home to fix it ... in mean time try and figure out how to unwire there control box near my furnace

This doesnt come with learning capabilities but its worthy the price with the automation you can do yourself with the app. The design is pretty slick and appealing. the interface is intuitive and draws users attention upon approaching it. Love the design and aesthetics.

It was very handy using it from the app especially since it was a cold morning..putting the heater on without getting out of bed was so nice

I did not like having to go online to get installation instructions. Also they did not clearly describe how to use the unit as far as adjusting and making menu selections. They should have done that first. Optional Backplate should have been included.

I loved the instant changes I can make through the Google app and making schedules. So I ordered a second one for upstairs, it was a newer model but it worked fine after connecting the thermostat wires which makes me nervous anyway so I disconnected the power to the house just to make sure that I did not blow a fuse!
