Posted .Hi there KBay, thanks for letting us know about the issue with your Nest Thermostat. It's unfortunate to hear that it's always disconnecting. Your Nest thermostat gets its power from your HVAC system’s wiring and requires a stable and constant 24 Volt supply. There are cases where these wires can't deliver enough power to support the Nest thermostat's features, then they start draining the batteries and disconnect from your Wifi network. In such cases, installing a common(C) wire between your HVAC and Nest thermostat is required and will help fix such issues. We recommend contacting a Nest Pro technician to help check your system and advise you whether your system will need a common (C) wire or not. Didn't work for me

Plus, I only had two wires coming out of the wall. I had to order a separate piece (a ground) and would have had to install it inside the furnace. I returned the unit.

Would not recommend this thermostat

It it unable to keep my bedroom at a comfortable temperature. The room is always too hot or too cold, and I have to manually override the thermostat. For example sometimes when the temperature in the room is several degrees above the set level the air conditioning does not come on.

I started making my home more automated and wanted to add this to my system. Wish I hadn't waited. It's a great product that has so many useful features. Love being able to set schedules to bring down my Heat Pump's use and bills. It has done just that and with prices only going up it will continue to pay dividends into the future. No looking back on this purchase.

I have owned other Nest thermostats and have been able to manage them as needed to work for everyone's comfort in the house. These are not that flexible and no matter how you schedule them, they will always go into ECO mode. This has been by far the worst purchase I have made in a while.

Time to install: scanned bar code on Google Home, the app would give me a check (properly scanned the item) then return me to the home page. Downloaded the Nest app. It started me through the install process then said because I have a duel fuel unit I would need a “professional” to install it. Did not want to incur that expense, so I returned it.

Inaccurate Humility Sensor

I bought 2 of them, one for each of our AC units. The humidity sensors are incorrect and read about 15 percentage points higher than the room actually is. I had an HVAC technician check them to be sure. After troubleshooting with Google for literally 2 hours they finally sent me two replacements. The two they sent are obviously refurbished and have the same problem. Now the screen on one of the replacements has a pixel line at the bottom. I will likely end up replacing these with an ecobee and hopefully those will work better.
