    It would easily be a five but it wasn’t able to be installed due to the lack of a c-wire connection. I now have to buy additional components and install it myself

      Hi xantosshado, thanks for informing us about the issue. We´re sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat requires a common (C) wire.

      Nest Thermostat gets its power from your HVAC system’s wiring. There are cases where these wires can't deliver enough power to support the Nest thermostat's features, then they start draining the batteries and disconnect from your Wifi network. In such cases, installing a common (C) wire between your HVAC and Nest thermostats can resolve the battery drain problem.

    Nice but didn’t work for my in-laws house as a gift. The thermostat also is not a touch screen which everyone tends to touch it because of the mirror look on the display.

    I was unable to get this to work with my iPhone 14, They wouldn't communicate. Plus, I only had two wires coming out of the wall. I had to order a separate piece (a ground) and would have had to install it inside the furnace. I returned the unit.

    Buyer Beware - Does Not Replace Nest E

    My Nest E stopped seeing wifi networks after 1 year, it is a known issue. I purchased this as a replacement, only to learn that it does NOT work with Nest Comfort Sensors and does not display in the Nest App. This is basically a google only product. To maintain the same learning and sensor capability of the old Nest E, you need the $249 3rd Gen "Learning" thermostat.

    If your connections do not have power cables, do not buy it since you would have to pay the installer. It requires a 22v source with normal batteries. It cannot be connected to Wi-Fi. You have to replace them very often.

Most 24V heating and cooling systems are compatible with the Nest thermostats, and would generally work without a common (C) wire. However, there are some systems that would require a C wire on the new Nest Thermostat like a heat only or cool only systems. And sometimes, you may need to connect a common wire (C wire) or power accessory, like the Nest Power Connector, to make your system compatible.     Either the installation was imperfect or this google device should never be purchased. It will not turn off - it is 2 am and the flat is 67 degrees. I have turned the heat down to 50 degrees and the furnace is still running. Never buy this device from Google (no service) or Best Buy. I dont want points for this review. I want the device to turn off the heat - NOW

      Hi Mitpol,

      Thank you for your feedback. While the new Nest Thermostat doesn't have a touch screen, It is still possible to directly control your new Nest Thermostat by using the touch bar on the right side of the thermostat. Swipe up to raise the temperature, swipe down to lower it, and tap to confirm. The display will show you how many minutes until your desired temperature is reached.

      - Tap the touch bar to bring up the menu.
      - Swipe up or down to select an option.
      - Tap the touch bar again to confirm your selection.

      Here are some user controls you can directly access on the device:
      - Temperature adjustments
      - HVAC modes (Heat, Cool, Heat or Cool, Off)
      - Temperature hold
      - Fan
      - Emergency heat
      - Reset

    Seems like a neat product, but be careful of your current wire setup... I bought it and wasn’t able to install it because of the wires my current thermostat has...

    Great product if there’s no need to hold temp below 50 degrees. The slide bar on the side sometimes requires a few attempts to engage.

    I do not recommend this thermostat. It it unable to keep my bedroom at a comfortable temperature. The room is always too hot or too cold, and I have to manually override the thermostat. For example sometimes when the temperature in the room is several degrees above the set level the air conditioning does not come on.

    I purchase from Best Buy I didn’t put on Because my technician was on vacation he come after 3 weeks he put on it work only 4-5 days after that stop it is not working I took back to Best Buy they they didn’t take it back I told them to exchange the PCs they said no we can’t now it is garbage for me I can’t use

    Checked compatibility with my system on Google website before purchase. Time to install: scanned bar code on Google Home, the app would give me a check (properly scanned the item) then return me to the home page. Downloaded the Nest app. It started me through the install process then said because I have a duel fuel unit I would need a “professional” to install it. Did not want to incur that expense, so I returned it.
