    Had to return! Kept getting error from app stating nest was offline, even after contacting google for help, it didn’t work. I was able to adjust temp from the nest itself just not from the app, which defeats the purpose of a smart thermostat to me.

      Connectivity issues for Nest Thermostat may be caused by several reasons such as Wi-Fi network congestion, distance of the device from the router, wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or devices nearby and other Wi-Fi settings. Also, if the system is not giving enough power to thermostat to charge

    It was hard to wire in because i was missing a wire on my furnace.

    I don't know what's wrong, the product is going offline and says wires are missing, maybe they installed something wrong..

      Hey there, BulentA. We’re sorry to hear you came across this issue with the Nest Thermostat. This device uses the voltage from your system’s wires to keep its internal battery charged. If the power from your system is insufficient, the thermostat will run off the batteries for a while before it must turn off completely. But if you repeatedly get low battery messages from your thermostat, or if there’s another power-related message, you may need to check the C wire connection or install a C wire to provide consistent power to your thermostat and prevent the internal batteries from draining.

    This device would NOT. Connect to our WiFi in our place in Tahoe. Returned. The main (3rd generation Nest) is MUCH BETTER. It does cost twice as much. Nest needs to market upgrades/repair parts for it however.

    I love most Nest products but this one is just not functional - it's extremely hard to navigate. The original one is the best and I've switched back to that.

    Costly Thermostat, it will ruin your equipment.

    Do not buy this thermostat. It will ruin your compressor and it will cost you thousands of dollars to repair it.

    Batteries need replace every month Auc conditioner comes on when it’s 65 degrees inside and said inside temp is 90 degrees and can’t be fixed without taking it off the wall

    This is the cheaper Nest model and it clearly operates that way. I purchased this for a grandparent and it was complicated for me to even set the temperature. I would not recommend this unless you are trying to save money. The more expensive Nest is well worth it.

    I’ve had this device since…November and I’m yet to use it. Why? Because my home is old and I need an adaptor so it doesn’t short circuit. When I finally get it up and running, I’ll change my review.

    This thermostat was super easy to set up. Ive only had it for about 2 months but its been great. It has helpful to have scheduls set up for the day as well as recommended temperature to save money.

    Looking at the product, it is not worth the price or the product. Battery is too low, didnt have a protector to put against the wall abd overall not worth it.

    This thermostat is uncontrolable

    I purchased this thermostat so I could see the temperature in my house when I was not home and adjust it on my phone. I usually set the temperature very high when I go out so that the HVAC doesn't turn on, around 90 degrees. This will sound unbelievable, but this thermostat will not allow a person to set the temperature in thier home to a certain level when they go out. When your phone is not there, it will automatically put the temperature to 83 degrees and I am told you cannot disable this feature! You can set the thermostat to HOLD your set temperature for 24 hours only when you are gone. I called Nest support twice on this issue and was told that this auto feature cannot be disabled.

The Nest Thermostat has different ways, in the Home app or on the thermostat, to manage temperature control for your home. When you set your Nest Thermostat to hold the temperature, it will maintain that specific temperature for as long as you want. But please note that you must end the current hold first before you can start a new hold to change the hold settings. Nest uses motion detected by Google Nest Protects and Google Nest thermostats to automatically switch to Home or Away mode, but not to trigger Nest Secure’s alarm. Nest Thermostat detects occupancy, but not intrusion. With intrusion, you need to be more certain that it is a person in the room to avoid false alarms. Also, devices must be certified for security to sound the alarm.

    Not reliable wire detection

    C wire didn’t get detected. We tried a 100 times and then we had to switch back to the old thermostat which worked in one go.

    It’s ok…. It works, it’s cheep, it’s ok. However, if you’ve used the original Nests, you’ll be disappointed with the quality of this one. Feels cheep, doesn’t work as smoothly, just all around not great.
