It was easy to install and has a nice look to it. It doesn’t come with the back plate though

Works as advertised. It cost me less than $60 with Oncor discount code. I give it five stars overall because I saved money buying it and now I'll save money on energy consumption. It won't learn like the other one but it will have schedules that you customize to your preference.

Not easy to manage especially for older people. Better to just spend the extra money for an ugraded version

im Laughing hard at all the pictures provided of peoples walls and the rigging done in some, some crooked AF etc. plus the fact that it works no different than a standard thermostat, i dont need to control it from away, a good programmable thermostat will do that on it's own, what a waste, all the sheep jumping on the bandwagon

I have this and use it in conjunction with the more expensive "learning" thermostat. Why do I have two different ones? Because they were both the last one's on the shelf. My first time using this was in my last apartment. Due to it's "smart" capabilities, which help reduce energy usage from your heating and air system, it essentially pays for itself within the first month's usage. Now in my newly bought house, I had to change out from the old school thermostat back to this one. At first, I was gonna be cheap and just keep the old ones; however, I end up paying for it in the result of high electric bill. I quickly went to the store and got this one (along with the learning thermostat), and have noticed immediate results. I expect buying this will pay for itself within the next month or two.

Well, I wanted to upgrade my thermostat for remote control capabilities. While it said it doesn't require a C-wire, but in my case I still needed one and my older system didn't have it or a way to add one. For those with the same issue, I fixed mine with a C-wire transformer that only takes a few minutes to plug up with an outlet. So there is is a way to make it work. After that, it's running great and I am very happy with the upgrade. Before you make this purchase, you need to check with your existing system and understand what it will take to make it work with this Nest. Even though Google's compatibility check passed me, I still needed to add a C-wire to make it work properly. If all else ask your HVAC guy if you're able to use this.

I had the Nest for a couple years. I have had this for Google one for a year. I love the features but my new heater was not working well. None of the heater repair people know how to use it or will touch it. The two groups of heater repair people all bad mouth it. They ultimately said it was the source of the problems although there were two things found wrong after a year of trouble shooting. One said it does not support two stage heating. If you buy this you need to have repair people who know it. Good luck in finding them. Otherwise you are between a rock and a hard place as the saying goes .
