Please with a new Google-Nest Pro 6e Mesh Router

I purchased the system and now have a strong Wi-Fi signal throughout my home. I found installation to be a breeze using the Google Home app on an iPad to handle the setup. Note that I found installing a fresh copy of the app at the beginning of setup to be helpful.

A BIG MISTAKE!

Unfortunately it was difficult to uninstall the nest 5 and replace it with the nest 6e. It took multiple attempts over 5 hours. My connection speed is not much better than the speed of nest 5. In addition, I am suffering lose of connection which did not occur with the nest 5 installed in the same location. It is very sensitive to anything placed around it. It was a BIG mistake on my part. Avoid this product!

Posted .Hey there, MichaelS. Sorry to see the Nest Wifi Pro wasn’t quite the upgrade you expected. There could be a few things impacting your connection — here are some ways to improve this:
1. Your device is far from your router: often moving your device closer to your router or point will result in improved speeds.
2. Building materials and other objects may slow your connection: if possible, try to use your device within a clear line of sight to your router or point.
3. Some devices do not support the faster Wi-Fi standards: speed is dependent on both the router or point and the device that is connected to it. If you have an older device, it’s likely it won’t support the latest standards for the fastest speeds.

Pretty good wireless solution

There's a few times here and there where the mesh will have a pretty weak signal, but I chalk that up to the distance between my two points. Will eventually purchase a few more to hopefully strengthen that connection.

Have had roughly a month and have had no connection issues or had to reset devices. My internet is only 100 mbps, and it gives me that all day long with no issues. I have a smart home with many google devices, so this system just made sense.

I was in the process of changing my provider. I got them out to see what was going on with slow or no speed internet. They check it and found out it was the router. I REPLACED WITH GOOGLE MESH . Very easy to install and I HAVE NOT HAD ONE ISSUE

Turned out it was not enough coverage for 4500sqft. Had to pick up this extra two units for a total of four. Good coverage now. Disappointment by strength of signal.

Meanwhile, you can still improve the Wi-Fi coverage by checking the placement of your router and points. As a general rule, points work best when they’re no more than two rooms away from each other. For example, if the far end of your house has weak Wi-Fi, don’t put a Wifi point in that exact spot. Instead, put it part way in that direction. Try to place it in an elevated position like on a shelf.
We also suggest trying the steps below:
- Move the connected device closer to your Wifi router or point.
- Repositioning the points to avoid obstructions like walls, doors, and aquariums can improve performance.
- Make sure all unused devices are off and not draining bandwidth with large downloads.
- Check for possible sources of interference such as microwave ovens, refrigerators or other equipment.
- Run a mesh test to confirm placement of your Wifi points.
