Stinks you can’t add a light. Hard of hearing so… After setup ok I think still not sure about detection. At least I get a notification on my Apple Watch. Still figuring it all out.

It freezes whenever someone rings the doorbell or it takes so much time to load that you might as well just open the door to see who it is. If you get an alert that there is movement, it also freezes. The regular Nest app won’t work with this model so you need to use the Google Home app, which is worse.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could write a book - but heres some key points. -does not make a doorbell noise unless you have another nest product -deletes footage the next day unless you have a subscription -i took it off to charge it ONCE and when i went to remount it the release button on the inside (similar to removing the back of a cell phone) got stuck. this was about 28 days after first setting it up. Google did not care and was not willing to help us with information about a manufacturers warranty or a replacement back, and just kept sending us the link to purchase a whole new product. If youre going to purchase this product, be prepared to purchase additional google nest products and please purchase a warranty through the store you purchase it from, because if it busts within a month Google reps will do anything to convince you to purchase a new unit as oppossed to honoring a manufacturers warranty.

The Google Nest Doorbell (battery) is designed to run on batteries without the need for frequent recharging, and it comes with a 1-year limited warranty. A chime is not included, but when a visitor presses your Nest Doorbell (battery), you can hear an audible alert if you have compatible smart speakers or displays, like Nest Audio or Nest Hub. If you choose the optional hard-wired installation, it will work with your existing doorbell chime.You can also choose to connect it to your doorbell system’s wires, which lets it stay powered.If your home doesn’t have a doorbell system, the easiest option is to install your doorbell wirelessly.
There's no fee to stream full resolution live video and receive basic notifications, as long as your doorbell is connected to the internet. If you want to go back and view recorded video, you can view events up to 3 hours in the past. However, you’ll need a Nest Aware subscription to record video, receive advanced notifications, to get extra features and to view videos saved in the cloud. Nest Aware is a paid subscription service you can use with your Nest products to help keep you informed about important events at your home. With a Nest Aware subscription, your Nest camera or doorbell stores video securely to the Nest cloud so you can access it anytime, anywhere. Please note that Nest Doorbell (battery), even when wired for continuous charging, does not offer 10 days of 24/7 video history with Nest Aware Plus, but your doorbell should still have event video history which will be deleted on a rolling basis after a certain number of days depending on which Nest Aware subscription that you have.
