Buyer beware!!!

Google has not figured what the original had already mastered. Why would you sell a camera without 24/7 recording capabilities? It only does event recording and 9 out of 10 times only gets part of the event. Don't waste your money. Wait for Nest to release their second generation in spring 2022.

Nest Doorbell (battery)’s built-in rechargeable battery provides a convenient, wire-free installation. To optimize battery life, it offers event video history and will detect and capture important activity at your door, so you can focus on the details that need your attention. If you’ve set your camera to record and save specific kinds of events in its video history, your camera will detect and process any important activity it detects, but will only save footage of events you’ve enabled to the cloud.

Live view does not open when the camera is selected in the home app. You have to select live. So two taps to see a live view. Older nest wired camera went directly to live view.
