The battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature and selected camera settings. We recommend adjusting the video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events and using Activity Zones to monitor specific areas to extend the battery life of your Nest Doorbell. If you still have to charge the battery more often than you'd like, connect your doorbell to a power socket with the included or optional power adapter. Your doorbell always uses battery power. The power from the outlet gradually charges your doorbell's battery, so you won't have to manually charge it as often.

Removing some of your connected devices can help free up some bandwidth space. Once you confirm the presence of congestion, we recommend contacting your Internet Service Provider to check your connection and upgrade it if needed.
We also recommend checking for possible sources of interference such as the thick walls and appliances in your home. Moving or adjusting your router where it can get better signal transmission to your Nest Doorbell (Battery) can be helpful with the issue. Records EVERYONE and EVERYTHING that walks by the house (event after trying to programatically limite the Alert zone. And I don't think I've EVER hear it ring. Always use wired camera devices.

The battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and doorbell settings that you select. You can extend the battery life by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events to monitor specific areas. You can choose which events your doorbell can detect and record (people, motion, package, etc.). Besides using activity zones, you can change the settings like adjusting video quality, wake-up sensitivity, length of video clips, time between recorded events .
A chime is not included with every purchase of Nest doorbells. Thankfully, you can connect a Google speaker or display and set up visitor announcements to get notified when someone rings your doorbell when you’re home. You'll only get visitor announcements on your speakers and displays if they are set up in the same home as your doorbell in the Home app. Also, if you have Alexa, Google offers a Smart Home skill for integrating your Nest doorbell with Amazon's Alexa home control. Alexa can announce when someone presses the doorbell or when the doorbell detects motion or events. Visit the Google Nest Help Center to learn about how to control the Nest devices with Amazon Alexa.

It was a problem for me.

While the new Nest cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Google Home app, users with previous versions of Nest cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams.
