    Dont buy if you use the Nest App!

    The Nest Doorbell does not work with the Nest App. Google decided to put new Nest products only on the Google Home app. Don't buy if you don't use the Google Home app

      We understand that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app, however, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app, and to create an integrated experience with other Nest and smart home devices. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with previous versions of Nest cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams.

    Terrible product!!! Can’t wait to return it. GOOGLE LAUNCHED TO SOON. Filled with issues and bugs, battery life versus what they say, software issues, Nest integration issues…big disappointment.

    Only stores "events" in video history, and the video history isn't accessible in a browser. It also doesn't work with any of our nest devices in the nest app.

    Died one month after warranty

    So one month after warranty the battery just dies after a couple of days, google support was useless so I lost $180

    If you're considering a doorbell purchase, I'd recommend steering clear of the Google doorbell. Mine malfunctioned just after the warranty expired, displaying a persistent error claiming the camera was dismounted, despite being functional and connected.     Can't view live or recorded clips on computer like the previous one. For me this is a deal breaker. Also doesn't record 24/7 (even if wired) like the previous version.

    Beware Does Not Work in Minnesota Winters!

    Functionally works fine under "normal" circumstances (works more fine if you pay for the Nest subscription) but will go offline when the temp drops below zero and not bother to notify you that it did. Hard to justify the cost when you have packages that are worth as much as this being dropped on your doorstep and you're not able to watch for them only to find out its offline when you go to check why nothing was delivered.

    Wait for a later generation... if it lasts.

    Turns itself off and won't come back on unless touched as a doorbell. Then it may stay on, maybe it'll turn off again. I check the camera remotely to be informed "video unavailable." I'm on my network, the same network, trying to turn it on and it won't turn on. I had high hopes for this, but it's a lemon. I've restarted it. Reset it. Sang to it. It simply doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

    Best buy is going downhill

    Bought from Best buy, had boot and connecting issues. Managers at Montgomery AL store were terrible to deal with and didn't want to honor a straight swap for the exact product. Bought from bed bath and beyond after for even cheaper with no issues.

    Does not RING ON YOUR phone, the sole purpose of a doorbell like this (to receive doorbell calls when not home). It only rings INSIDE the house with a smart device or old school chime. And their support is HORRENDOUS! I knew more about the product than the 3 agents I was connected to!

      Although Nest doorbells have sounds that help you know what’s happening (for example, when it restarts), a chime is not included, But when a visitor presses your Nest Doorbell (battery), you can hear an audible alert if you have compatible smart speakers or displays, like Nest Audio or Nest Hub. You can connect a Google speaker or display and set up visitor announcements if you want to get notified when someone rings your doorbell when you’re home. Also, alerts for Google Nest cameras are a bit more complex than for other Nest products since you can choose motion and sound alert settings, and change how and when you’ll get them.
