Better than the wired version

When you compare it’s ability to reconnect when power goes out or Wi-Fi has to be reset. They both work the same when they do work this one’s less maintenance.

You can use Google Assistant speakers as the door chime. Since I have one upstairs, one downstairs and one in my bedroom it covers my home. Speaking to the person at the front door is easy through the app. It's a great deterrent for a would be burglar and porch pirates.

I wish I never bought it. First of all it doesn't work with the original Nest app that my other cameras are on, you have to use the google home app which is horrible and has very little control. It forced me to "migrate" my original next account to google and it's been a nightmare. Second you can't play it on the TV like the original Nest app can. Third, the battery life is so short, I charge it then within a few days I start getting alerts that it's time to charge it again. Fourth, if any thief knows about these cams they can pop it right off the bracket with no problem. I wish I could return it and get a wired unit but Best Buy only has a 15day return. I might just throw it away and start over it is literally so frustrating.

We wanted to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, and Google Assistant. It offers you a lot more benefits since you have access to Google´s security features as well. If you´re willing to try, you may set up your other Nest cameras to the Google Home app. Here´s a guide that you can follow to set up your Nest cameras on the Google Home app: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9893532

Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. Users can extend the battery life of their camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios:
Busy: About 1 month battery life (About 25 - 30 recorded events per day)
Typical: About 2.5 months battery life (About 13 - 16 recorded events per day)
