Hey there, KarenG. Thanks for the feedback. We’re glad that you find the Nest Doorbell (battery) good, but we’re sorry to hear that its mounting bracket is below your preference.

The Nest Doorbell (battery) comes with a wedge you can use to adjust the doorbell's camera angle if it's located in a corner, and it can angle your doorbell horizontally up to 20°. To get the camera view you want, you have to adjust the doorbell’s position by hand. Use the Home app to check the camera’s view so you can adjust the position from the mounting plate or wedge if you need to. To use the wedge for a better camera view, make sure to install the wedge then position the baseplate plate over the wedge with the G positioned upright and use the wedge screws to secure it in place. Then attach the doorbell to the baseplate, align the circle at the bottom of the doorbell to the hole at the bottom of the baseplate, and push the doorbell in then down until you feel it click into place.

For other concerns about the mounting bracket, please visit us at the following link so we can learn how to help improve your experience: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

Hey there, drip. Thanks for posting your feedback. We’re glad that your Nest Doorbell (Battery) works as expected, and we hear your concern about its video quality.

You can try adjusting your doorbell’s video quality that can improve the resolution. The higher the video quality setting you choose, the sharper and more detailed your footage can be, but it also uses more of your internet bandwidth. This setting lets you choose the maximum video quality for your doorbell. And whichever level you pick, your doorbell will automatically adjust its resolution and compression according to how much bandwidth is available. Check this link to learn more: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9218596

We’d be happy to share your feedback with the right team for future improvements. In the meantime, please feel free to let us know if you need further assistance by visiting us here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

If you have sun that shines directly on this doorbell, it will shut off when it gets too hot. It's better than the other black doorbell. If the doorbell is connected to a powered chime then this doorbell doesn't require to be removed and charged.

Hi there! Thank you for sharing your experience with the Nest Doorbell Battery. We appreciate your feedback, both on the positive aspects and the challenges you've encountered. The Nest Doorbell is designed to be weatherproof and can withstand temperatures ranging from -4°F to 122°F. However, if the doorbell is exposed to direct sunlight for an extended period of time, it may overheat and shut down temporarily. This is a normal safety feature to prevent the doorbell from becoming damaged. If you ever encounter further issues or if there's anything specific, please feel free to reach out to our dedicated team of specialists here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

Only negative aboit this camera is that its not 4k. The 1080p is decent enough, night vision infra is good. The built-in mic and speaker are also good. The battery lasts well over 4 weeks. For $120, i think its a good price for the value.

Hi Kenndee, thanks for letting us know about the app issue with Nest Doorbell (Battery). We're sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing you.

Here are some recommended steps to ensure the best experience when setting up your Nest Doorbell (Battery):
      - Ensure that you are using a GMail account.
      - An Android mobile phone or tablet running Android 8.0 or later, or an iPhone or iPad device with iOS 14.0 or later.
      - Check for possible congestion in your Wi-Fi network. Removing some of your connected devices can help free up some bandwidth space. You may then check to see if you will still experience the same connectivity issue.
      - You may also check for possible sources of interference such as the thick walls and appliances in your home.

Please consider contacting our support team if the issue remains. We recommend contacting us for further troubleshooting and isolation here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

I have been enthusiastically waiting for this device to be launched and purchased the doorbell on the first day of availability. I have a unique requirement in that every other video doorbell I've seen is spec'ed at 16-24 VAC for wired operation. The doorbell transformer in my house is only delivering 14 VAC, and is buried somewhere under the wallboard in my finished basement ceiling or some wall. I've been unable to locate it despite looking in all of the usual places and using circuit tracing tools. I thought that the 8-24 VAC voltage spec was a lifesaver. Alas, this was not to be the case. I thought that the mechanical install would be the most challenging due to the narrow uneven channel between my storm door frame and the brick wall, but the wedge took care of that and I was able to get the doorbell to fit. I have had two Nest thermostats for years, and have never had an issue configuring them or controlling them with the excellent Nest app. My experience in trying to configure this doorbell using the Goole Home app was a nightmare. The user interface and experience are extremely poor compared to the Nest app. My first attempt to configure the doorbell failed, so I deleted it from the app and started over. This time, I made it through the configuration, connecting to my network, and getting to the point where the app said I should see video and was connected to Nest Aware, complete with a welcome email. I didn't see video, and never did. The camera was offline, with no way to get it online. In addition, though I had set the configuration for a wired chime, it did not activate the chime. So the device was perfect except for not displaying video or ringing the chime... Long story short, I spent two hours with Google Nest Support and they were unable to resolve these issues through multiple deletions and reinstallations of both the device and the app. I was also unable to successfully connect to my network or either of the Nest thermostats again for configuration - got an error message that "something went wrong" - no error code, or ability to retry, just cancel the configuration. And at each step of the configuration process, with each parameter entered, it took minutes for the app to respond. During that time, I was told that if the camera goes offline, it's due to network issues, but every other device on my network including smart appliances as well as computers, phones, smart TVs, A/V receivers, and my two Nest thermostats were all doing fine. I could have connected the doorbell to a different segment of my network, but there is no way to manually configure the network if there is another Nest device nearby. It automatically only configures through the other nearby Nest device if found - another bad design element of the app. I let the Google Nest Support person know that I had spent far too much of my time on this already, and would pack up and return the unit. I provided a number of suggestions on how the app could be improved and said that if their developers would like a beta tester with 45+ years of experience in HW/SW/systems design and implementation for a version of the app that incorporates these suggestions along with hardware that performs as defined, I'd be happy to do so if they provide one to me for free. All in all, an extremely poor and disappointing product experience.

Hi there, we appreciate you letting us know about your experience with Nest Doorbell (Battery). It’s unfortunate to learn that you came across installation and connectivity issues, and that we’ve fallen short on your support needs. This is definitely not the kind of experience we want you to have.

Nest Doorbell (battery) can be powered with wires delivering 8 - 24 V AC, and at least 10 VA, 50/60Hz, worldwide. While the Nest doorbell can replace most wired doorbells, there are some cases where the doorbell system either doesn’t give enough power or gives too much power. So, if you plan to connect a Nest doorbell to your current doorbell’s wires, you should check that your current doorbell can be replaced by the Nest doorbell and that your doorbell system will work here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247132

Also, there could be some settings on your router or access point that could be causing a problem with the connection. High firewall security or parental controls can block communication with Nest servers. Refer to your Wi-Fi router or access point documentation to check if these features are enabled on your network and how you can exempt your doorbell from these restrictions. Check our recommended Wi-Fi settings for more detailed configuration options: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9240155

If you have a mechanical chime with moving parts and it didn’t ring or didn’t sound right, try the following:
      - Remove the chime cover and check that the wires aren’t touching any moving parts.
      - Next make sure that any exposed wire ends (with bare copper showing) aren’t touching each other.
      - Then test your chime again
You can get more help to troubleshoot chime issues in our Google Nest Help Center or visit this link for more details: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10732535

We take your feedback seriously, to work on improving our products and services. We understand your decision to return your Nest doorbell. If you’d like to try it out again in the future, we’d be happy to work with you again and help improve your overall experience: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest
