Then, when I removed the doorbell to charge the battery, The key hole seized up. I cannot get it to lock back into the bracket. It falls off. Now the Google Nest Doorbell has become a $180 worthless paperweight.

The doorbell can run on battery alone, but if you prefer it wired for continuous power, make sure that your Nest Doorbell (battery) is powered with wires delivering 8 - 24 V AC, and at least 10 VA, 50/60Hz. You can also connect your doorbell to a power outlet with the included or optional power adapter. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Doorbell (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use. Connecting to continuous power will keep the battery charged. Make sure that you have the latest version of the Google Home app that can improve not just the live feed, but also the camera playback controls to make it easier to play, pause, and navigate between events from the camera history view. Additionally, you may need to check for any range issue or wireless interference that can affect the overall performance of your doorbell. Sometimes the device may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away from your router. Check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the doorbell and your router as these items could block the connection. Can't find anyone to stand behind the warranty

However, first time we tried to remove unit to recharge battery, the unit fell apart. Best Buy not supporting because under warranty, but can't get Google to respond to warranty email request (3x) and in chat told me best buy would support. so biggest waste of money ever.
