We understand that long time Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app and web app, however, our priority with this launch was to create an integrated experience with other Google Nest speakers and displays, and to make the Google Home app as the one place you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant.
Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

The move from Works with Nest (WWN) to Works with Hey Google (WWHG) enables the Google Assistant to control all your connected products. We wanted to let you use the Google Assistant to create Assistant Routines in the Home or Assistant apps. The move to the Google Home app using a Google account also provides you with the benefits below:
- Automatic security protections such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Doorbell (Battery) and a Nest Hub, just say, "Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
- One account to sign into both the Nest and Google Home apps.

If wired they can do this. Installer was not able to come up with a solution. I purchased this to solve this issue.

Nest Doorbell (battery) can do visitor announcements on a Google Assistant-enabled speaker or display or the indoor chime. Also, in addition to standard themes or sounds, seasonal doorbell themes are available around some holidays. You can change the theme or set a different chime sound in the app’s doorbell settings, where it automatically goes back after the default tone after the holiday.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.In the box is the Nest Doorbell, the base plate, release tool, 2 wall anchors, 2 wall screws, wire connector, 20 degree wedge, 2 spacers, 2 wedge screws, a charge cable (3 feet), quick start guide and a safety and warranty document. First impression,, I was able to install very easily and quickly. I was a little sad that I wasn’t able to install where my old doorbell was located but excited that with the new location, I am able to see my whole yard. (I was previously only able to see the doorway area and part of the yard.) There is a template card to assist with drilling the holes in the correct location and keep in mind that it is preferred to charge the doorbelll out of the box. The install instructions online state it takes about 5 hours to fully charge the doorbell but out of the box I was notified that the charge was complete after about one hour and a half. There is a QR code in the bundle of documents, so the code will take you right to the app. (Please note that I already own other google products, so I already have the app downloaded.) I was happy to see that there was an update right out of the box and the add to the app. Keep in mind that this doorbell works with any device that can download the Google Home app. Also keep in mind that if you don’t change the notifications, you will be notified every time someone pops in front of the camera, even if they don’t press the doorbell. With the intelligence system, you are able to be notified if the person has a package. If you want to take it a step further, you can subscribe to Nest Aware and get the Familiar Face add-on. One thing that I wish had a little bit longer time is the history. In order to keep more than 3 hours of history, you also have to subscribe to the Nest Aware to keep up to 60 days of history. Another cool feature that I love because most of the rooms in my home have them, is the intelligent doorbell. The doorbell itself does not ring but it will notify you on the nest speaker. This was pretty awesome the other morning. I didn’t have any of my devices near me and someone pressed the doorbell and it notified me on my bedroom nest speaker. The best part about this doorbell for me is I am notified when someone is near the camera, no matter if they ring the doorbell or not. I have delivery drivers that tend to try and avoid the camera and go to the side door but no one ever hears the ring or knocks at the side door. So now, when they enter the driveway, I will know that they are there! (I have a pretty short driveway.) Overall, I am VERY please with this doorbell and I definitely see myself sharing with friends and family!

Died after 1 year and a week. 1 year warranty

Disconnected randomly the other day so I contacted their support. Boy was I excited to find out that my warranty had expired a total of 9 days before it died and they couldn't do anything for me at all outside of tell me that the exact same model that just unceremoniously but the dust was actually on sale! I could buy another one! No.

Notification are slow when someone is at the door or you don’t get a notification at all. Google has a lot of work to do. This will be going back. I’m sticking to my ring doorbell.

Nest Doorbell (battery) has a 145° diagonal field of view at 3:4 aspect ratio so you can view a person from top to bottom and to better detect packages on the ground. You can adjust the field of view using the included wedge or purchasing a Made for Google Nest vertical wedge or horizontal wedge.
Nest camera notifications are a little different. Because we don’t want to bombard you with alerts, you might get fewer than you expect if your camera is pointed at a busy spot. You can choose to receive notifications for everything your camera detects, or choose notifications for only certain types of activity. The design that mounts the doorbell to the house is terrible. After 6 months the pin that locks it to the mount won’t come out, so it won’t latch on anymore and is essentially worthless.
