    Bought this unit about two years ago and it stopped working and had to replace it… owned different WiFi units, first time something stopped working…

    Doesn’t work with all your nest products

    Loved it until my nest Iq camera became useless because it wouldn’t switch it to the 2.4ghz network causing it to lag. I am not a tech guy but that sounds like poor planning. I wish it recognized the optimal settings for its own products, which leaves one to wonder how smart the system really is. A work around is leaving a greater distance between your camera and router so it may switch automatically to the 2.4ghz, but with a 1 bedroom apartment one would need a neighbor to keep the router in their apartment.

    Horrible Device!

    I started using this router a month after I purchased it and it worked relatively well but after almost 3 months of usage it stopped working! It started blinking red and nothing seemed to work to get it back online! It’s been inside the box since late July and I don’t know what to do with it! Definitely not worth the price!

      Thanks for sharing your feedback and we’re sorry to hear that your Nest Wifi stopped working after such a short time. If you’d like to give your Nest Wifi another try, we’d like to recommend some troubleshooting steps that could help.

      To further isolate the issue, we suggest setting the Nest Wifi back to default settings by performing a factory data reset by following the steps below:

      1. Look for a circle etched into the bottom. Press and hold the factory reset button at the bottom of your Google Nest Wifi router for 10 seconds. The light will pulse yellow, then turn solid yellow. When the light is solid yellow, release the button. Once the button is released, the light will turn solid white for a brief moment (five seconds), then to a solid orange light.

      2. Once the light turns to solid orange, this will start the reset process. It can take up to 10 minutes. Do not unplug the power cord during this process.

      3. When factory reset is complete, the light on your router will turn to a faint solid white light. After a few seconds, it will pulse white.

      4. Once the Nest Wifi router is pulsing white, it's ready for setup.

      Also, we'd like you to know Nest Wifi comes with a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty starting from the date of original purchase.

    Lack of Range

    The router was great and did not have any issues staying connected. However it was not enough for a 2,000 sqft home to have high speed all over without an extender.

    bought it because it looked really sleek but it made my wifi go extremely slow. i had to exchange it the next day. app was easy to use though

    Does not work with Google Wifi Mesh Network

    Purchased to add to my Google Wifi system after one node went down. However after 2 days of trying to get it to work it would not join the mesh network. Then I was told by a Best Buy Agent that they cannot get it to work either. Google says it will work but I could not figure it out using my existing App and network or then with the new app and setting up a new network. So I returned it and purchased the Eero 6.

    Google support could not get this working even though my laptop worked fine connected directly to the cable modem. The tech actually said "Nest WiFi is just a receiver and the modem must not be sending". This is not how networking & DHCP work but they didn't care and eventually just hung up on me!

    Do not purchase if you want a dependable router.

    Owned this for 3.5 months. The last month, every hour or so, it would just stop working and I would have to reset the router. Today, it just stopped working all together. Google support was useless. I went back to Best Buy and purchased an Asus. So far so good on this new one.

    WiFi Connection

    We are not incredibly enthused with our new WiFi. It was supposed to work for a house with our square footage, however we are having connectivity issues in our kids bedrooms. If I could I would return it for something else, however it is past the 30 day return period.

      Nest WiFi router alone can cover up to 2,200 sq. ft., but the location of the router, walls, and furniture can all play a role in limiting this coverage. If your router is on a low ground, the network signal can be obstructed by furniture. Likewise, if your kids' bedroom is upstairs or two rooms away from the router, the signal can get weaker. Such obstructions will result in disconnections or smaller coverage area.

      We recommend placing the router on a higher ground like a shelf, in an open and a relatively central location in your house for stronger connection and wider coverage. You may also consider adding a Nest WiFi point in your kids' bedroom or on a shelf between the router and the bedroom.

    Useless at 2.4ghz

    Doesn't work at 2.4ghz making it useless for most home devices, such as wifi light switches. Google help told me to buy a second wifi router that works at 2.4ghz. It used to have a 2.4ghz but Google turned it off..... why?

    Problem with On Hub

    This router would not connect using the Home App. Problem was that I had a On Hub (also a Google Product) that conflicted with the set up. May also have a problem with Spectrum. In summary I spent hours following the install using Home App with no success.

    Drop in download speed

    We purchased this in the hope we would get a stronger WiFi signal vs the AT&T router. WiFi was better but we lost 300mbps download compared to the AT&T router, we tested several times to check speeds and compare. We returned this device for a refund as it was pointless.

    Wifi speeds are super slow. If you have a lot of walls dont get this router. The wifi will not reach anywhere like it says. I pay for 300 mbps and I get like 20 mbps outside the room of the router

      You may need to check if you are using a modem/router combo for your Internet connection. We recommend setting it in bridge mode, or disable its Wi-Fi functionality and just keep your Nest Wifi Router as your primary router. This will help prevent a double NAT issue that may happen when you have two routers broadcasting their own private networks which may interfere with each other and cause disconnection between your connected devices.

    Item became defective only weeks after opened. The router sold to me had appeared to be faulty as it has started to continuously reset itself over and over every night. If best buy would contact me, I would appreciate it if we could solve this problem.

      The connectivity issue may be related to a few reasons and if you're willing, we recommend trying out some troubleshooting steps below that might be helpful:
      - Home layout: Building materials and other objects located between your router and Wi-Fi points or between your Wi-Fi points and mobile devices may slow your connection. If possible, try to use your device within a clear line of sight to your router or point.
      - Check congestion: There could be congestion on your Wi-Fi network if you have many connected devices to the network. As all these devices consume a portion of your available Wi-Fi bandwidth, your Nest cameras may not get high speeds. You can try relieving the network by disconnecting some of the devices to see if this would increase the Wi-Fi speed for your Nest cameras.
      - Restart: A quick restart to your modem can fix internet connection problems, improve slow performance and resolve common wireless issues. Even if your modem appears to be working correctly, you may need to restart it to establish a secure connection to the Wi-Fi point.
      You have the option to contact Best Buy for help if you wish to return your Nest Wifi.

      You may also contact Best Buy for further assistance if you would like the option to return your Nest Wifi instead.     Worse Results

    Wanted to upgrade my old Google mesh with this new router. After set up my mps actually dropped by 40 mps. I tested the numbers several times, and each test returned with a drop in performance. The Google router gave no improvement. Will return.
