    Not worth the money

    *When* it works, it is great. But I do not recommend this router unless you are willing to constantly reset it and restart everything. I am incredibly frustrated at this point because it is a known issue that these routers constantly drop connection and need a full restart and it seems like no solutions are being offered. This has happened more than a handful of times and usually when we are in a position that we cannot go home and fix it. Our whole house uses Google products, so to say I am disappointed is an understatement. Currently unable to access cameras or our thermostat because the wifi has dropped connected AGAIN. Don't waste your money.

      You may need to restart your modem, even if your modem appears to be working fine, to establish a secure connection to the Wi-Fi point as Wi-Fi signal and connectivity will still depend on other factors like interference, multiple devices using both bandwidths on your router and the older Wi-Fi chips on your devices that might not be able to support these speeds. If you're using a modem/router combo, set it in bridge mode and disable its Wi-Fi functionality to avoid double NAT issues.

      We also suggest these simple steps that might help:
      - Repositioning the points to avoid obstructions like walls, doors, and aquariums can improve performance.
      - Make sure all unused devices are off and not draining bandwidth with large downloads.
      - Check for possible sources of interference such as microwave ovens, refrigerators or other equipment.
      - Run a mesh test to confirm placement of your Wifi points.

    Absolutely terrible product

    Set up was fairly easy and works great for the most part. Good speeds and range. Had originally purchased an additional WiFi point, but the router by itself was able to provide great coverage, so I returned the WiFi Point. Now for the bad part - About two weeks in, I started having problems with the router constantly dropping my connection. I had to open 4 cases with Google Support for this one issue and we have not yet figured out what the issue is. I even got a new modem from my ISP to make sure it wasn't something else. Absolutely unusable since it keeps dropping the network in the middle of video calls, other WiFi calls, and during meetings. The worst part is the inept support that has no clue. One of their solutions was to unplug the router for an hour and reconnect. Can't make things up. I had such high hopes for this product since we already have other Google Home and Nest products and we could stay in the ecosystem. Terrible disappointment. Can't believe Google put their name on this awful product.

    For setting up smarthome devices, Steer Clear!

    If you plan on installing any smarthome devices, this is not the router for you. Most smarthome devices will only work on a 2.4GHz router. Most modern routers give you the ability to choose between 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz. For whatever reason, this does NOT. You can find crazy solutions like walking down the road until the signal fails for 5.0 and you spill over to 2.4. But then you're too far away from the smart device you want to connect to! I cannot fathom why they have not fixed this issue. Look elsewhere if you want smart switches, outlets, bulbs, blinds, etc.

    Constant disconnections

    This is a terrible wireless router. I have owned a ton of wireless routers over the years and this one is the only one that has been terrible. It drops the WiFi connection several times per day, causing all my devices to disconnect. It’s a software bug that Google refuses to fix. I have sent them nearly 100 requests to get this fixed via their app. This device should have never left the factory with a bug like this. I will update this review when they fix this in a software update, but I wish I hadn’t bought it. 7/12/20 Edit: I’m going to keep this post updated. So far, they only offer support by email or chatting. So don’t buy this if you’re expecting phone support for the product. Also, their support has no clue what an iPad or iPhone are or their limitations. They keep trying to get me to download a pc diagnostics application using my iPad. So far I am having no luck getting this product either refunded or replaced. I promise to keep this updated. I would give the product 0 stars if I could.

    Junk that will work and then stop for no reason

    I can't begin to tell you how absolutely frustrated I am with this product. I had to do constant resets constant moving of the nest Wi-Fi pox all over the house and it still continues to go fluctuate up and down with the signal and then oftentimes loses complete internet connectivity. I was banging my head on the wall thinking it might have been my internet provider but they're stable and have had no losses. After a bunch of troubleshooting and a lot of frustration and determined that its nest and they're super unreliable ecosystem. I'm never ever going to buy another Google product 4 Wi-Fi again. And I am a major Google fanboy. Stay away terrible terrible terrible frustrating product. Here's the thing this thing work really well for the first three or four months and now no matter what I do it keeps vomiting out. So it's not like I could have determined it didn't work in the beginning it's one of these Timebomb things that have me keeping a bunch of old worthless Hardware pieces

    Switched back to my

    When spectrum upgraded my modem I thought I should upgrade my wireless router too and bought the Google nest. I used it for a few months. I switched back to my Apple time capsule router as it was stronger and didn’t drop out. The Google Nest would drop connection frequently. We have a relatively small house that it should have covered but our Xboxes, iphones, TVs and computers would frequently lose internet connection no matter location in our house. Switching back to my old Apple router eliminated this issue.

    Didn't work for me

    My internet worked just fine before adding the Google WiFi. I was thinking I'd try to get a stronger signal through out the house by adding the router and mesh points. Not so. No matter what I do. No matter how many times I reset it, (many!) It stops working intermittently about every 20 to 30 minutes. I'm giving up and returning it.

    Device fails after a few years, complete junk

    It worked well for about 2 years and then started having intermittent failures and slow downs, to the point it stopped working stopped getting signal. Changed back to my older Google wifi
