Got this for my wife's birthday as an upgrade from her Pixel 6. I have the 10 Pro which was an upgrade as well. The 10 is a great phone with nice bells and whistles that my wife enjoys. Considering I paid the full price for the 10 Pro, the price for the 10 was a great deal!!

Pro that was brickked after the March 2026 Android update. Unfortunately the same thing has happened to the 10. Despite automatic updates being turned off, a couple weeks after purchasing the pixel 10, and naturally after the 14-day return window closed, it updated and it no longer works. Google is not assisting any customers with any solution. Before it bricked, it worked like any other pixel. Fast battery drain, constant heat, video recording was subpar. But I was mainly interested in the basic Android experience found on Pixel along with 7 years of updates. Unfortunately I'm going to be about 6 years and 50 weeks short of being able to keep that 7-year update cycle. I would say, stick to Google services and software and not hardware but everything winds up in the Google graveyard sooner rather than later. If you're using Android, plenty of other options out there that are not Samsung. Motorola comes to mind however their prices have increased by substantial amounts in one year for a very little gain. But that seems to be the industry right now. Of course there's always Apple and iOS, but you're going to pay the same if not more for the same amount of AI slop.

Hardware from the makers of Android, meaning less third party bloat and faster software updates. Also the most developer friendly option even though Google has become hostile towards rooting/modding in recent years. Pixel 10 also has optical zoom in the non-pro model for the first time.
