Brighter, Smarter, Better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box you'll spend some time getting everything up to date and configured, but that's completely expected with any new device. You'll need to sign into your Google account, install an OS security update, update all your apps, install new ones, and then you're good to go. If you connect and transfer from another phone using the included USB-C cable, it handles most of this process for you automatically. There's no physical SIM slot in this phone so you'll need to use eSIM for activation. I was initially a bit disappointed by this decision, but the activation process went surprisingly smoothly using my carrier's app after the initial setup. Design Google stuck with its signature design language again this year, which absolutely makes sense since it works so effectively. The phone bears a strong resemblance to the Pixel 9. I picked up the Moonstone color and it looks so stunning I genuinely feel bad about covering it with a case. This might just be the best color option Pixel has ever offered! Overall it feels remarkably premium in hand, though it is slightly thicker and heavier than I'd ideally prefer. I think most users will appreciate the size of both the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro models. If you're someone who requires a larger display, then you'll want to consider the XL version instead. Display The first thing that caught my attention when powering on the phone was just how vibrant and punchy the display appeared. The display achieves significantly higher brightness levels this year and it's immediately noticeable. It features a 6.3-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz variable refresh rate. It utilizes Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on both front and back surfaces. The screen retains the in-display fingerprint scanner, which I've found works reliably well. One important note is that by default it ships with high resolution enabled. If you want the full native resolution you'll need to dive into display settings and adjust it manually to get the complete 1280 x 2856 resolution. Sound I compared the audio quality directly to my older Pixel devices and discovered it's measurably better than previous generations. Phone calls come through crisp and clear. Whether you're taking calls or consuming multimedia content, the Pixel 10 Pro's audio performance has shown genuine improvement. Camera I understand a lot of people purchase the Pixel exclusively for its camera capabilities, and there's absolutely a compelling reason for that approach. The photographs this device captures look truly spectacular. The Pixel 10 Pro features 3 rear-facing cameras: a 48MP Ultrawide, 48MP Telephoto, and a 50MP Wide sensor. On the front they've installed an upgraded 42MP camera. The primary camera delivers true 5x optical zoom with up to 100x Pro Res zoom capability, which is genuinely remarkable. When you zoom to extreme distances it initially appears blurry, but after capturing the shot it employs AI enhancement and makes it look better. I've been shooting photos in various modes and different environments and everything has turned out looking exceptional. I genuinely believe the Pixel captures the best photos of any smartphone currently available. And I maintain that Night Sight mode on the Pixel remains the superior low-light photography solution on the market. However, when it comes to video recording, I found myself less impressed. Colors appeared somewhat washed out and muted. I believe this remains an area where Google needs continued improvement. The camera system also enables face unlock, so if you prefer that authentication method over the fingerprint reader, that option is available. This year's Pro model incorporates the temperature sensor directly into the camera bar. It includes its own dedicated app and functions on various different surfaces. I've found it performs well when you follow the provided instructions properly. It's logical thinking. If my phone can effectively replace my camera, calculator, level tool, etc., then why shouldn't it replace the thermometer as well? Battery Life Regarding battery performance, I've observed no meaningful difference in real-world usage compared to last year's model. This year's version received a modest bump to a 4870mAh battery capacity. Currently I'm charging it every other day unless I subject it to particularly heavy usage. So you shouldn't encounter any issues getting a full day's use from it. They've also finally incorporated Qi2 wireless charging support. PixelSnap One of the most compelling new features of the Pixel 10 Pro is Google's PixelSnap magnetic accessory ecosystem. Similar in concept to Apple's MagSafe or the magnetic accessories that Motorola originally pioneered, PixelSnap creates a seamless ecosystem of magnetically-attached accessories that connect securely to the phone's back panel. Cases, chargers, ring stands, mounts, and much more. I can't provide hands-on impressions since I don't have any accessories yet, but I'm genuinely excited they incorporated this feature. I'll definitely be exploring these options in the coming weeks. Performance This year's model incorporates the new Tensor G5 processor paired with 16GB of RAM. Performance has been consistently excellent throughout my testing. The phone is buttery smooth. It handles multitasking, demanding apps, and graphically intensive games with ease. Very impressive. I know this phone is not the best spec'ed phone out there but I have had zero performance issues with this thing. Software When it comes to the software experience, there's genuinely a lot to explore and discuss. You receive the latest Android 16 version, which also includes Material 3 Expressive. I personally find Material 3 Expressive quite appealing. I believe this represents a positive step forward in Android's UI design. Many of the older Pixel devices are receiving this update as well, so it's not exclusively limited to the Pixel 10 lineup. Like several previous generations, this phone also includes 7 years of guaranteed OS updates! This year Google has introduced an extensive collection of additional AI features and several new applications. Far too many to comprehensively cover here. Remember that when you purchase a Pixel phone, you're investing in the distinctive Pixel experience. This is what genuinely distinguishes the Pixel from other Android devices on the market. There are countless subtle enhancements you can utilize while using the phone that enable superior experiences and better outcomes. This is precisely what keeps drawing me back year after year.

Don't buy Pixel Pro 10, battery lasts 12-14 hours
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven't used many features of the phone because the battery drains so quickly. I have to charge the phone mid day. I start with a fully charged phone in the morning, after reading t news and catching up with text, the battery is at less than 70%. I have had this phone for 16 days. I contacted Google, their solution is to reduce the usage of all my apps, even though I am using the same settings as I used with my pro 9. They suggested that I change the settings for my screen to turn off after 30sec to save battery. Now if I hesitate when writing a text, my screen turns off. I told them it was unacceptable. They suggested I return the phone so it can be replaced under warranty. Asked for a copy of my receipt. I sent a copy of my Best Buy receipt and was told that was not an acceptable proof of purchase and that they would do nothing to help. I am 70 miles from the closest Best Buy store , as soon as I can get back to a Best Buy I will have no choice but to exchange it for a Samsung phone. I will be out of the restocking fee, but I have no choice since Google doesn't honor my Best Buy receipt.

Great Phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome phone, but not particularly pleased with the way the associate handled the trade-in. Never heard where one needed to wipe a phone before the actual trade-in. The associate was so much in a hurry to get rid of me that he "mandated" I wipe the iPhone I had before handing the new pixel phone to me, claiming it was part of the contract. I had to download all my Apps afresh and wasn't able to transfer my old Apps to the new phone. This cost me valuable time. Not sure I will be using Best Buy for any trade-in anytime in the future.

#BestBuyFails #TradeInScam #WorstCustomerService
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely RIDICULOUS. @BestBuy has the worst, most customer-hostile trade-in policy. Their impossible 13-day mail-in window has cost me the $140 total credit on my Pixel ($110 promo + $30 trade-in value). I tried resolving this in-store, and the transfer to a supervisor via a polite phone call was DROPPED THREE TIMES. No other major retailer has a window this short. Best Buy publishes an extended return policy but uses small print to make an exception for these devices. Fix this system failure and honor the original deal, @BestBuySupport! #BestBuyFails #TradeInScam #WorstCustomerService

Pixel giving the competition a run for its money!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Google did not mess around when they came out with the updated Google Pixel 10 Pro phone, the many upgrades have made me really excited to upgrade and make this new Pixel 10 Pro phone a part of my new daily routine. My phone background history includes the original Google Pixel phone, as well as a slew of Samsung phones, never an iPhone so that is what I have to compare this Google Pixel 10 Pro to. This phone was very easy to get started, the Android updates upon startup and getting my account set up went very smoothly. While the updates were taking place I was looking the phone over and could not help but notice just how nicely designed this phone is. It has a very minimalistic and clean appearance, the bezels both look and feel nice, and everything is very appealing to the eye. Once I was able to start using this phone I knew I had several features I had to check out immediately. I always like to put on a 4k or 8k youtube video and turn the quality all the way up. I took it even a step further and compared my old phone with the exact same video next to it to compare screen quality. I must say the Pixel 10 Pro has a noticeable edge on the roughly two year old Samsung, it is just a bit sharper and seems to be brighter, or have a wider range of brightness adjustments. As I watched more on the phone I also noticed that the speakers sound excellent, easily the best speakers I have ever heard from a cell phone. There are speakers on both the top and bottom of the phone. I am still waiting for my case to be delivered but it does not appear that the speakers would be covered with an even moderate protection case so that's a relief. I also really appreciate the fact that this is the most advanced camera system Google Pixel has put out yet, as camera quality is usually my number one factor or important feature with my phone. Starting with the front camera, it is drastically better compared to my older Samsung phone. My friends have always complained about the quality of my front camera, saying it has a strange look to it, somewhat along the lines of a fish eye look but not full on. I purposely took a few selfies with them with this phone and had them take a few of their own just to see their thoughts and they all agree, it does not have the strange distortion that they have complained about, and the overall quality is definitely better. As far as the back cameras, the improvements over my old phone are not as drastic, but still an improvement nonetheless. The Pro Res Zoom feature is fun to use, as I tend to catch myself in situations where a really good zoom would be useful, and now having this feature in my pocket at all times is so exciting. And as a semi-professional photographer that does prefer a full size camera for photos a lot, especially for portraits, I was curious to test out the 50mm portrait feature this camera has. It comes out with a very high resolution, even higher than I was expecting, and the depth of field is impressive and better than I was expecting as well. Google just keeps knocking it out of the park with their camera quality with the Pixel phones, and this felt like a huge leap for them. Again, coming from my roughly two year old Samsung, which the battery life was not necessarily bad on, but the battery life of the Google Pixel 10 Pro is very noticeably better. I tend to top off my phone's battery throughout the day just out of habit but just to put it to the test, I have not been plugging in my new Pixel 10 Pro just to see where it is at at the end of the day with my normal usage. I have been consistently ending the day with thirty to forty percent battery life left, for comparison, my Samsung usually ended the day around twenty percent with its quick little boosts throughout the day. And probably obvious but I will note, the phone charges extremely fast, and without getting hot. Overall, I have enjoyed switching back over from Samsung to the Google Pixel family and seeing how far the Pixel phones have come is awesome. I highly recommend this phone to just about anyone, and seeing how the competition of the phone industry expands from the big two to the big three is an exciting thing for us as consumers.

Decent phone not so great app optimization
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long time apple user tried the pixel 10 pro and I enjoyed the phone but third party app integration wasn’t great. They just weren’t optimized to work with the gesture navigation controls and was buggy. Bothered me so much I had to return it.

It's familiar, but not too familiar
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a longtime Pixel user—this is my fourth since 2019—I've come to expect a certain level of performance and seamless integration from Google. I’m not in any danger of switching to another phone, as I'm a partisan when it comes to Google’s approach to productivity software and service integration. But this also means that the bar for a new Pixel to impress me is quite high. Despite my high expectations and the relatively recent upgrade from a Pixel 9 Pro XL, the Pixel 10 Pro has proven to be well worth it. The most obvious and impactful upgrade is the camera. While I wouldn’t call myself an enthusiastic photographer, the new portrait mode is fantastic. The AI-assisted zoom is particularly impressive; it’s so good that it’s given me a few existential moments, making me question whether the end result still "counts" as a real photograph. I've only used the AI-assisted "add me" feature as a party trick, but I can already tell it's a tool I'll be glad to have in my back pocket for serious use down the road. Battery life is another area where the 10 Pro shines. This was one of the few detractors of my last phone, but the new battery has consistently impressed me. Several times, I’ve braced myself to charge the phone, only to find it well over 60%. I use a lot of apps, including the localized AI features, and placing it on a wireless charger overnight is all the power it needs. The new AI features, specifically the deeper integration of Gemini, are a noticeable improvement. The voice assistant is tripped up far less often, and I’ve retrained myself to expect more from it. Giving it longer, more detailed instructions for things like calendar events is now well within the “Hey Google” boundaries. There are, however, some drawbacks. The Magic Cue feature, which promises background AI assistance, is undermined if you use third-party applications. For example, my messaging app aggregates SMS, Google Messages, iMessage, and Discord into a single chat interface. Because of this, I don't get the benefit of Magic Cue intuitively picking up details from my text messages. It’s a bit of a letdown, and I feel like I'm leaving some of the phone's best features on the table. Still, the AI translator feature got a lot of amazed reactions from my bilingual coworkers, so I know the potential is there. Physical design and UI response are also fantastic. The phone looks and feels great, and there's a noticeable difference in responsiveness from my last phone, even though I wasn't dissatisfied with the previous version. Despite my small reservations about some of the AI features' practicality for my specific use case, the Pixel 10 Pro is a solid and impressive phone.

Current Google Phone User
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the box is the phone, USB-C to USB-C charge cord and informational guide. First Impression - The phone is similar in size to my current Google Pixel 9a. The camera is different as it is raised and the weight is still the same as the 9a. Phone Quality - The phone seems durable and is sleek. The buttons on the right side of the phone have a nice raised look and feel. There are dual speakers on the bottom and there is no SIM card slot as the phone has the eSIM. Also, I would like to add that there is no memory expansion slot like the 9a. The camera button is a lot bigger on this phone but it does house a bigger camera as well. The camera works even better as it takes super high resolution photos and with Gemini’s assistance with tasks, searches and daily needs, I feel like the Pixel 10 Pro is a true personal assistant. (I took a photo of my finger tip and you could see all of the lines and grooves of my finger.) I wish that I could recycle my current cases to protect the phone as the phone is the same size and shape but the camera bump is different. Ease of Use and Product Function - The installation/setup was seamless as I am already a Google Pixel user, so all I had to do was connect the phone via cellular provider and everything else was already saved from my previous phone, so signing into apps and the WiFi passwords were already saved and ready to log on. Battery Life - I charged the phone to 100 percent after unboxing and the battery life has been impressively better as I am currently still using the same battery life from my unboxing today. Overall, I am enjoying this new phone and I would highly recommend to friends and family. I would definitely purchase again.

Pretty Nice!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my review of the new Pixel 10 Pro. In all fairness I should say I'm 70 yrs. old, suffer from hearing loss & don't like changes. For starters, I had a difficult time in the beginning with getting info from old phone transferred to new phone. The Esim transition did not work & I had to get Verizon involved. That only made matters worse because they screwed up my wife and my cell numbers on our phones. Once we got that all straighten out things got simpler. Positives for the phone: The Camera takes better quality photo's than my old phone. There's also a bunch of features, like a Telephoto lens for zooming in, an add me feature we you can add yourself into your photo. You also have an option to take panoramic photo's. Battery life is awesome, I can go a couple of days without recharging. Plenty of Storage & Memory room for all my photos & info from old phone to be transferred over & I still have tons of space. Display is improved over old phone. While there's still room for improvement I can now see my screen even in direct sunlight. Negatives for the phone: Ring tones, I feel like the choices are boring & limited. Also the available volume for the ring tones is low. Weight, you'd think the phones would get lighter & smaller. While the size is basically the same as my old phone, the weight has increased. In closing, this phone has options I'll probably never use but my kids & grandkids would love. I would recommend this phone. The quality of the phone calls has been awesome. No dropped calls or service.
