For me, the Pixel 10a is the prefect android phone for most people, and the one that I will recommend for anybody to get. The design is minimal but really pleasing. The lavender color reads more blue than purple to me. I love that the camera is flush with the back, making it not rock back and forth when tapping on the screen when it is on a table. I love the weight of the phone. In a time of such large phones, this one isn’t small but the back not being all glass really helps keep the weight down. The Pixel 10a has satellite SOS support, which is nice to have if you need to use it. The display is amazing, much brighter than I expected. The display is also covered in gorilla glass 7i, which is a large improvement from the last a series phone. This never bothered me much, but this year the 10a has slimmer bezels around the edges. There are no shortage of features on this phone. Pixels are known for the camera, and this does not disappoint. Camera Coach is in AI feature that can help guide you to take better photos. It is intuitive and helpful, with framing and composition advice that really does result in better pictures. Auto Best Take is great at deciding what the best picture from a series is - it can even create a merged photo of the best faces from a series of pictures (this is neat, but is over the top for what I would want). The Add Me feature is also here, which is great at putting the photographer in a shot after the fact. Again, this is neat, but a bit out of the realm of what I expect from a photograph. Gemini Live is something that once you use, you will not want to be without it. It is conversational and the fastest way to talk with an AI assistant. You can interrupt it when it is talking to adjust the flow of the conversation. It is really helpful. I’ve also used it to tell me about an object, or have it tell me about a photo. I was remodeling a home that had in floor heating and I had no idea how it worked. I showed Gemini a picture of the set up and it was able to talk me through what it was and how it worked. Something that I could do right there with a conversation, rather than taking time to do a web search. Call Assist is another thing that you just must have. It can screen calls, record conversations in real time, filter out background noise, work through automated call systems. The Hold For Me feature is also great so that you don’t need to wait on hold, your Pixel will notify you when a representative is on the line. Two more features that I’ve really been enjoying are the Weather App and Quick Share. The Weather App is just thoughtfully designed, easy to use, and really accurate in my location. You can customize the app a bit by moving sections around. It is great to use and great to not have to purchase another app for a great Weather check. The Quick Share feature works with AirDrop on Apple devices. This is amazing. I’ve been able to share files from my Pixel to my iPad in a completely seamless way. I never thought something like this would be possible across different devices. Battery life is great and lasts several days for me. It can also fast charge at 30 watts, and wirelessly charges at 10 watts. Overall this is the perfect Android phone, the combination of features, design, battery, and the camera make this an easy recommendation.
