I have always wanted a Pixel Phone mostly for the cameras which seemed to be the point of reference and comparison when looking at the different brands available. Moving from the other major android ecosystem with paired phone/watch was something i wanted to experience to the full, so also got a PIxel Watch to go with the phone. It is going to take a while to get all the features and capabilities going and create a streamlined daily routine, but so far I am well pleased with the android system on the PIxel, as I have heard it is a more pure Android experience and it has it's differences so there is a learning curve. Don't get me wrong, it's not a big change from other 'company-based' systems, just that things are different and it twill take a while to learn my way around. With that said, I am having a blast with this phone! The cameras are wonderful, and going through all the online videos comparing the different flagship phones, the PIxel needs to make no apologies. The zoom feature is particularly impressive as I like photographing plants and animals on walks, and zooming in on a perched bird or blossom works wonderfully. On the practical side, phone screen leaves nothing to be desired, very bright even in outside sunlight, smooth scrolling, battery easily goes all day and longer. The design/appearance of this Pixel is a thing of beauty. Holding this in my hand it feels sturdy in the hand, balanced weight, and the gold trim around the edge and camera bump really makes this phone stand out! I always put my phones immediately in a case, and for this phone I got a clear case to show off the color and gold trim. Of course a screen protector and camera lens protector goes on the first day. Additional is a nice magnetic ring on the back to provide a good "finger grip" and magnetic phone mounts for the morning bathroom mirror and in the car beside the android auto screen. Speaking of android auto, no problems pairing and using the Pixel on a nice retrofit stereo system installed by BestBuy this past summer. Last item to mention that goes with the phone is a Pixel Watch, and with the newer 5 coming out the prices for earlier models are really attractive. Phone and Watch go together like peas and carrots, and the Google ecosystem has many health monitoring and reporting/coaching features provided by the AI integration. To speak on this AI connection, the Pixel phone/watch combination will take you as far as you want to go for health, sleep, exercise, and fitness tracking. To sum it up... I have had the Pixel phone a couple weeks and the watch about a week, and there are so many features and capabilities that have come along in the past few years that it will take a while of poking around to settle in with my customization. By the way, the AI capabilities really help move the "how to I do this?" along as diving into all the menus is greatly simplified by asking AI how to do whatever I am interested in doing. I upgraded to the Pixel 11 Pro XL from the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and after using it for a while, I’d say this is a very good phone, but it’s not a huge jump from the 10 Pro XL. If you already own the Pixel 10 Pro XL, you probably shouldn’t expect a completely different experience. A lot of the improvements are small, but some of them are genuinely useful. The first thing I noticed is the display. The 6.8-inch screen is still a great size, but the extra brightness is noticeable when using the phone outside. Everything looks clear and colorful, and scrolling is very smooth. The phone also feels well built, although the overall design is close enough to the Pixel 10 Pro XL that people probably won’t notice that you upgraded unless you point it out. The cameras are where I think the 11 Pro XL has a more noticeable advantage. Photos are processed faster, and the new camera tools give you more control over how pictures look. Magic Capture is one of my favorite additions because it can grab photos or short video moments without requiring quite as much preparation. The improved zoom is also impressive in good lighting. That said, the really high zoom levels can still look heavily processed, so I wouldn’t expect 120x to replace an actual optical zoom lens. I also really like Rambler voice typing. I use voice typing fairly often, and this is one of those features that sounds minor until you actually use it. It does a much better job of cleaning up what I say, removing filler words and formatting the text so I don't have to spend as much time fixing it afterward. It works particularly well when I’m sending a quick message or making a note. The new Tensor G6 processor makes the phone feel responsive, and everyday performance is good. Apps open quickly, multitasking is smooth, and the phone doesn't feel sluggish. However, I was hoping for a bigger improvement in gaming. The 11 Pro XL still isn't the phone I'd choose if gaming performance was my main priority. For normal use, though, it has more than enough power. Battery life has been good for me, and the faster 45W charging is a welcome improvement over the Pixel 10 Pro XL. Extreme Charging is especially handy when I need to get a lot of battery back in a short amount of time. The Pixelsnap wireless charging is another nice addition, although I still wish Google had pushed charging speeds even further. One feature I’m not completely sold on is HiLight. The little light on the back is interesting, but right now it doesn't do enough to make me care about it. I expected it to work with more types of notifications, and having to leave the phone face-down for it to be useful limits its appeal. Hopefully Google expands what it can do with future updates. Overall, I like the Pixel 11 Pro XL. The camera improvements, better charging, excellent display, Rambler voice typing, and new software features make it a better phone than my Pixel 10 Pro XL. But the difference isn't dramatic. If you already have the Pixel 10 Pro XL and it's working well, I'd only upgrade if you really want the camera improvements, faster charging, or the new software features. If you're coming from an older Pixel, though, the 11 Pro XL is much easier to recommend. For me, it's a solid upgrade rather than a must-have upgrade. I’m happy with it, but I don't think Pixel 10 Pro XL owners need to rush out and replace their phones.

Full Disclaimer - this is my 4th google pixel phone and my first Pixel XL version and so far so good. And I will be transferring from another android phone. First Impression - My experience with this phone has been excellent so far. From the unboxing and the setup to the battery life, display and Gemini integration, this phone has impressed me more than I expected. I will say that I understand why there is no brick but I a wall plug would have been very much appreciated. I also I chose Canyon, which on the screen looks like a red orange color but in person, it looks closer to pink. I actually like the color but it will most likely be covered with a case in the very near future. Setup (Data Transfer) - Setting up the Pixel 11 XL was incredibly easy. I am moving from android to android, so all I had to do was type “setup” on my old phone and scan the QR code displayed on the new Pixel. From there, the setup process initiated. The entire process of switching phones was about 10 minutes which is amazing since my last transfer took almost 24 hours. Gemini and Safety Features - I have used Gemini before and still currently use and it seems that there are a number of new features and improvements. The features that stuck out to me was the SOS calling, contacting friends and family during an emergency, and on finger access to 911 calls. I also noticed the hands free capabilities that have been extremely useful. The one I use most is the always available feature which is the phone constantly listening which is very helpful for all hands on deck employment and when I am in the car. Gemini also seems to be much better with my current interactions on this Pixel 11 XL than on my previous Pixel 10 phone. I have noticed it maintains longer conversations and more in-depth information and insights. Design and Display - This is my first XL design and it feels more substantial and robust. All of my previous pixels have been the standard size and I definitely like the larger XL version. The display and camera looks to be improved as the display looks to be extremely brighter, clearer and vibrant and the camera is better as well. I enjoy the larger landscape for social media and streaming shows or movies. Battery Life - Battery life has been good so far. I am more of a heavy call user during the day and social media (watching videos) at night. I noticed my battery barely went down as after the work day but at night, the battery would go down a little faster with video usage. After 13 hours in the day, my battery was at 50 percent. Fingerprint Scanner - There is a fingerprint scanner and it is working great. I went ahead and setup the fingerprint scanner with both hands and unlocking the phone is ready for whichever hand I am using the phone with. Overall, I really enjoy using this phone because of the old and new features and of course the battery life. My only con so far is the missing charging brick. I would recommend this phone to friends and family and I would purchase again.

I have had every Pixel model since they came out, with the exception of the Pixel 9 series. I have always loved the clean UI and Pixel-only software touches that the competition does not have. The Pixel 11 Pro XL is my favorite one so far. It's snappy and very responsive. The screen is beautiful and easy to see, even outdoors in sunlight. The new modem is noticeably an improvement with overall speed and connection reliability, both on cellular and Wi-Fi. With each iteration of the Pixel, it feels like they keep taking a formula that already works, and keep making minor annual changes that improve the device overall. Pixel has never been about raw performance, like some of the competitors' flagship devices, but the software tweaks and user experience has always been top notch for me. Even when I switch to another flagship device, I always end up going back to Pixel, because I miss the ecosystem and proprietary features. If you have never had a Pixel before, I would highly recommend the 11 series. If you are already a Pixel fan, you can't go wrong with this new generation. The additional AI features, which might not be everyone's priority, have been amazing with this phone. I have used the included AI to identify and provide information on vintage items that were picked up at an estate sale. It was even able to help me identify what type of metal an item was made out of, which blew my mind. The updated cameras are better than ever, battery life has been an improvement over the 10. Charging is faster now, and overall I can't find any major faults with the device. I'm very happy with this new generation of Pixel devices.

After using the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL in my normal routine, the things that stand out most are Gemini, the solid feel of the phone, the camera, and the Olive finish. Gemini is one of the features I keep coming back to. It feels like a natural part of using the phone instead of something I have to go out of my way to find. Having it close at hand makes everyday tasks feel a little easier, and the integration is one of my favorite parts of the experience. I also appreciate how sturdy the phone feels. It has a solid, well-made feel in my hand, which makes it satisfying to pick up and use throughout the day. I’m happy with the pictures I’ve taken, too. The camera makes it easy for me to get a photo I want to keep, and the results look sharp and pleasing to my eye without much effort. That ease matters to me because I usually want to capture a moment and move on instead of spending time adjusting settings. Finally, the Olive color is a great choice. It has personality while still looking understated, and I enjoy seeing it every time I pick up the phone. Those details have made the Pixel 11 Pro XL a phone I’ve really enjoyed using.

I’ve had the Pixel 11 Pro XL for around 4 days now. The first day I had it was just transferring everything over from my Pixel 10 Pro XL. The speed of some apps were slower than I expected, but I found out that until the AI knows my routines better, in doing so will speed them up like they should be for me. That was honestly the first thing I noticed that was different. The phone is exactly the same dimensions (for the most part), but is noticeably lighter if, like me, you’re coming from a P10PXL. The Pixel 11 is still nowhere near as thin and light as others, but grateful nonetheless that Google trimmed the phone down. I’m still using the same case too, if you need any more proof. The side buttons and the Camera are the 2 main physical changes they made on this phone. The camera bump is still the same size mind you, just different looking from the outside due to the addition of HiLight for notifications. The side buttons were literally moved around ⅛ of an inch. If you say so G! The other change this time is mainly software really. Updates to the camera as expected. From what I have experienced, camera options like zoom, video, night sight all work better, faster, more reliably. As I mentioned earlier, an addition to the Pixel is HiLight. They updated the camera hump to show it on the right side. I have heard that this may cause issues with the flash function, but I’m sure early issues will be ironed out, hopefully with a future update. I know I covered the hardware part of the phone, but another update is the Tensor 6 chip, up from the 5 from last year in the Pixel 10. The chip lets the software do its thing, with less glitches and hiccups from what I saw. The camera has many of the same functions as last year with minimum updates from last year. Again, I feel the software feels more mature. Working on my 5th day with it, no task has been too big. AI is of course another tent pole function of the Pixel 11. Gemini seems smarter and casual with Proactive actions. Once set up, practically every single command, request, question has been accurate. If you have a Pixel 10, I would honestly say to hold off. Yes the Tensor 6 is improved, but most updates this year seem like they were meant for the camera overall. With better wallpaper options are nice, the 30x zoom etc., but don’t feel like they fully warrant a $1299 purchase. Now if coming from an Apple or another Android phone, this could be the phone for you. Initially I was having my doubts about this one, but after a few days I am digging it more than I thought I would. I am rating this 4 out of 5. I really hope that Google ups their game next year with updated design and battery amount, even though that first day got me 10 hours of ost.

This is Pixel number 5 for me, having had the 2XL, 4XL, 7 Pro, 9 Pro XL and now this 11 Pro XL. It's been fun to watch the phones evolve over time and the improvements in the quality of the hardware and software. The Pixel 11 series revolves heavily around Gemini and it doesn't disappoint. Some of the new features that are incredibly useful are Instant Night Sight, which takes low light shots instantly instead of holding the phone steady for 3-4 seconds. The Pro Stable video for clear video shots when moving. And the new HiLight LED on the back that lights up different colors for specific contacts or notifications. But if we're being honest Google, we had that feature before on the little LED next to the front facing camera, so it's not "new", but it's a welcome re-addition to the phone. The camera on this phone is amazing, which is in line with Google's track record of top notch camera software. The 120x zoom is somewhat of a novelty for taking a shot of a stationary object, but it's not going to catch something moving with any clarity. It's still a pretty cool feature, even if you're using it more as quasi-binoculars than to take a pic. And the Magic Capture feature has been truly amazing for taking pictures of our golden retriever. It essentially takes a video and automatically grabs photos of key moments so you get great shots of your pet or kids without needing them to stand still or pose. Great for moment shots. Overall, it's a great phone and a nice upgrade from the 9 Pro XL. However, my 1 star deduction is because Google knocked the Ram down from 16GB to 12GB for the 256GB version. Most people won't notice in every day use, but the concern is future proofing the phone considering it's marketed with 7yrs of updates. There was no reason to cut that corner on the Pro line, especially when you're pushing people into subscription based cloud storage and the storage on the phone itself becomes less important than the RAM to drive the AI features. Would I recommend this? Yes. Would I recommend the 256GB version? Again, yes but with a caveat. If you're an AI power user or like to do a lot of multitasking on your phone, go to the 512GB version. Also, if you plan to keep the phone for 4+yrs, go to the 512GB version.

The Google Pixel 11 Pro XL is a great phone for those who want the latest Google has to offer. The screen, at 6.8 inches, is bright and vibrant. Everything from photos, games and movies just looks excellent. The Tensor G6 chip is great. Plenty of power to run Gemini AI and all your applications or games. Also has good efficiency...You will definitely be getting all day battery life. Another cool feature is the upgraded wireless charging which is supposed to give 29% faster charging. I typically just plug the phone in when I need to charge the phone. I use wireless charging for overnight charging on my night stand. The camera is excellent. Photo and video look very nice. Night time photos look great and seem to capture fairly quickly. Very pleased with the camera so far! I do have a couple gripes about the phone. It is unfortunate that you can't customize the HiLight feature to anything other than missed phone calls and Gemini. I feel like this was a missed opportunity here. Another disappointment is the 12 GB's of RAM. With everything phones do these days, it seems a bit odd to have a Pro XL model come with 12gbs over 16. Overall, the Pixel 11 Pro XL is a great phone. No bloatware, great photos, display and experience.

2026 has been a very unfortunate year for a lot of tech enthusiasts. With the advent of AI companies eating up all the RAM that hasn't been made yet, for data centers that haven't been built yet, purchased using money that hasn't been earned yet, the costs of storage and RAM have caused prices of tech for the average consumer to skyrocket. If you wanted to build a PC, one that would have cost you $1000 a year ago would now cost $1800 purchasing the same parts. Laptops have been getting cut memory and storage while the prices increase. And in the midst of all of this, we have the Pixel 11 Pro XL. As someone who has owned several Pixel phones (the first one, the 4a, the 10, and now the 11 Pro XL), I'll be honest, I'm rather disappointed. To be clear, this isn't a bad phone by any stretch. It does everything you need it to, and it does it fast. The problem is that it feels so... safe. Derivative. And it, too, wasn't free of the storage shortages. The 256GB model Pixel 11 Pro XL only comes with 12 gigs of RAM, matching last year's base model RAM, and less than last year's pro line, which had 16. Now, let's be realistic: 99% of people don't actually need 16 gigabytes of RAM in their phone. The truth is, I couldn't tell there was less RAM in it with the way I use it. I'm no power user, I don't try to be productive on my phone. It's a device I use to navigate, make calls, send texts, and sometimes check social media. But even so, the reduced RAM comes with a price increase for the non-XL model. It's hard not to see this as a problematic trend. Even if most people aren't going to use all the RAM in it, the value proposition is objectively worse. For the record, there's a lot of good things about this phone. The call quality is about as good as a phone call can get. It's always going to be a bit crusty sounding because that's the way things are. It's fast with browsing, opening apps, streaming videos, all that stuff. The screen is, as always, gorgeous. The camera is, as always, gorgeous. The actual phone itself is, as always, gorgeous. Well constructed, too. It's got a nice heft without being obnoxiously heavy. In functionality and form, this thing is great. But we've reached a point with smartphones as a whole where each new iteration is just as uninspired as the last, and it really feels like Google phoned it in, for this one (pun intended). I can't help but be disappointed because this phone is nothing more than a way for Google to make money while spending less, and while that's the way every company ever works, it feels like they're pushing the limits of what they can get away with. This phone is a product of a giga corporation, and nothing more than that. It has no personality. It's an iterative upgrade where they lowered the RAM because they could, and didn't give us anything to make up the difference. The HiLight feature, I suppose, was meant to be the cool thing that makes the phone worth it, but it's not. First off, it's only useful when your phone is face down, and somewhere in sight. Second, it only works when a favorite contact calls you, or when you're interacting with Gemini, the AI. The favorite contact thing is, frankly, useless. I could just set a special ringtone. That would matter in more situations than the phone being face down somewhere I could see it, too, since I could hear it from my pocket, across the room, or while it's face up on the desk beside me. As far as interacting with Gemini, I never do that, and I never will, so it's useless to me. Even if I did use it, however, I don't see how it could make it that much better of an experience. Why can't we set it to flash specific colors when we get notifications from certain places? Yellow for Snap, blue for texts, purple for texts from certain people, etc. It feels like wasted potential. And on the topic of Gemini, they force it down your throat at every turn, and I am tired of it. I don't want or need your worthless AI. I don't want it to write texts for me, I want the people I'm talking to to know they're talking with ME, not some bloated, info-hoarding software I didn't ask for. I don't want it to trim the fat if I'm using text to speech, I want it write what I say the way I say it. I don't want it giving me popup notifications about the features it promises it can do well, but can't. I don't want it to make 8 second clips for me, I don't want it to make clips for me at all. I don't want it enhancing my photos, either. I don't want it at all. I want to opt out, and you make it impossible. I cannot iterate this enough: There is NO escape from Gemini if you get this phone. You spend an exorbitant amount of money, and have the privilege of Google forcing their software down your throat and begging you to pay for it. I need to look into Linux for phones, because I have reached my absolute limit with this. Nobody wants your AI. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone. For the price, you can do better.
