    Great for the price

Offers a ton of nice features not normally found on $300-$400 range device, vibrant screen and good audio quality. Snappy, even with the processor being a downgrade, compared to Pixel 2/3. Other features might be a "sidegrade" so make some comparisons. The purple color is not as striking in sunlight but looks great indoors.

This will be my first Android phone ever and, I am already loving it! The camera is too good, and the device is lighter than the iPhone 6s. Since I am completely NEW to android, everything is comparatively new and there is a learning curve. the only downside is - 3a is not water resistant and doesn't have a guerrilla screen.

    Poor Phone - Worse Service

    Posted .

Prior to the phone review, please note that this review in no way reflects BestBuy. I purchase most electronics through BestBuy, I think they are great. Now the phone, it's aweful. Worked for nearly 3 weeks before the Fingerprint scan quit working. It turns out that this is a known Pixel issue. After 15 days the only recourse is to call Google's service center which is in India. I've been on the phone with them 3 times, all calls over an hour, closer to two. Rather than drop the phone off across town and leave it for an unspecified period of time, or send it in for a 7-10 day repair, I decided to live with the issue, but it got worse. Now I can't recieve inbound calls, a 3rd party software product that is essential to my business does not work, but works on all other Androids and Apples. The reciever is very weak compared to my Samsung 6, the phone goes off reading messages without prompting, and is very glitchy. The service advise I recieved from India made the phone worse, now I can't use screen share anymore. This phone is defineately not for busy people, business people who rely on their phones or people who rely on commisions like myself. The phone and Google will cost you money. Google will not recieve the phone for service without your credit card number, the phone is now 6 weeks old and practically toast. I spoke with BestBuy and they believe as I do that I have recieved a lemon.

    Stopped Charging after 2 weeks

Very disappointed with the Google Pixel 3a. It stopped charging after only 2 weeks of use. Did all the troubleshooting and factory reset; nothing worked. Getting help for someone at Google is a pain. You have to tweet your complain only to receive instructions to do the same troubleshooting again, and again, and again. I was always happy with HTC's and only got this for the camera. BIG WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!

    Broke in a few months

My speaker phone broke mid conversation, along with my notifications and alarm. The speaker works for videos and music. Turns out it is a software issue that is common in these phones It is covered by a warranty, But they want me to send in the phone first for a few weeks. Being that this is my only phone and a business line as well not sure what to do. I can't be without a phone for weeks. I am also a single parent. They are offering no other options which seems odd because they made the bad phone and are such a big company. I would recommend staying away from a Google phone. They are break and the company does not offer a reasonable solution for their faulty product. After a few months I am probably going to have to live with a broken phone or buy a new.

Google will do whatever they want with your pics.

It is a nice phone overall, with a good quality camera however some basic functions in the camera are missing and google will do with your pictures whatever they want. They will reorganize your folders, add functions you couldn't care less to have and you are not aware of those changes .... never again a phone without an external memory card! Another thing, this phone practically doesn't vibrate!

Flimsy phone which Google doesn't stand behind

Three weeks after purchasing this phone it stopped working for my wife. Just shut off and wouldn't come back on. Outside of 14 days, so Best Buy wouldn't take it back. Called Google, had to ship it to them because there was no approved repair facility nearby (although we live in a major college town with over 40,000 students). First shipping label they sent me didn't work. After waiting to hear from them, they said it had "liquid" damage. This phone was NEVER in water, NEVER splashed or otherwise exposed to the elements. They refused to fix the phone and wanted me to accept a refurbished replacement for an additional $371 to the $399 I paid for it only a few weeks earlier. This is the third and last Google phone I will ever buy, They're pretty but their durability is an absolute joke. I have had numerous Samsung phones which have been beat to hell but after 3 years or more work every bit as well as this Pixel did when it was new. Don't waste your money if you're active, eat or drink near your phone, or plan to go outside where there might be weather. Avoid this phone at all costs.

Meets all the specs i wanted in a phone finally, first time since 2013 (N5). Perfect size in hand, excellent camera, most recent Android OS, OLED screen, fingerprint scanner... the list goes on. Wish it had expandable storage, but i have a feeling that option, for any phone, will be going the way of the dinosaur in the near future.

The speaker on phone stopped working immediately after purchase. Could not get it fixed under warranty as the phone was stuck in a different country due to the pandemic and google would not extend warranty any more. Worse customer service by Google.

    Speaker broke after one week

The speaker on my phone for only my phone feature stopped working after 1 week. After 3 hours on the phone with support it was determined that I needed to go to a repair center. I live in the SF Bay but the repair center is around 20 miles from where I live. I had asked to speak with a supervisor and was told that they are all in a meeting and will not be able to contact me for up to 3 days as they have a lot of callbacks. In my opinion the support is very poor and I read many reviews on the phones with the same issues before purchasing the phone but felt that Google was a much better company than what I have experienced. I wish I would have paid more attention to the reviews.
