Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Pixel 3a XL's camera quality, describing it as outstanding and still good even in 2024. They also appreciate its affordable price, long battery life, and user-friendly interface. However, some customers have expressed concerns about the limited storage capacity, lack of wireless charging, and choppy speaker audio at high volumes.

This phone has excellent sound, cameras, function, and durability, BUT it is NOT WATERPROOF and is barely water-resistant. Insurance is probably a good choice.

I bought this baby with a promotion and it truly is the best bang for your buck (after gift card). They didn't skimp on the camera and the phone is very snappy.

i'm not the type of person who uses or is on their phone all the time, but i love to take nice photos so the pixel 3a was the perfect choice for me -- especially at its price point.

Fast enough for most daily usage, great camera, stock Android. This is a great phone for most people. No need to pay over 1k for a flagship when this will be fine.

I had this phone for almost a full year and never ran into any issues with the OS or hardware. Recently traded it in for the Pixel 5 due to not being a fan of carrying huge phones anymore and wanting a more premium feeling phone. However, if the current pixel 4a/5 lineup is too small for your liking, I can wholeheartedly recommend this phone. It's got the great Pixel OS and the fabled pixel camera, which has taken some of the best pictures I've seen on a smartphone yet. I've owned various android phones before, but none were as simple to use as the pixel 3a.

Better than newer phones (especially the camera)

I replaced this phone with an S21 Ultra. What a mistake. The camera on this is better, it's half the weight, and there is no (insert phone manufacturer here) bloatware. It's just google. The only reason I "upgraded" was because it didn't work with my Samsung watch. Well, it did, sort of... It would send everything to the watch, but I could not stop the phone from ringing. If I denied a call on the watch, the phone just kept going. Kind of made the whole thing pointless. I had an S8 before and that's when I got the watch - and I am not fond of Googles watch design at all. So I guess you either go full Google or not at all. And I am 100% okay with NOT going full Google. Never go full Google... But seriously, the camera takes pictures 10x better than the s21 and the new phones like it. Why? No idea. It's like they tried too hard. Everyone thinks pictures look so great because they look at them on a 3" screen. Comparing the same exact pic taken with the 3A and S21 on a 4k monitor (properly calibrated) was night and day. The 3A showed everything clear. The S21 looked blurry and like it was oversharpening. Nothing changed this on the S21 and there are TONS of complaints from newer phones just like it with all these "super sensors" in the Camera's. Sad really... But anyways... I've never broken a phone before. I dropped my s21 recently and it was just enough to mess something up inside, but not outside. So now the screen has a green hue to it when it's charging instead of all black. I switched back to the 3A and was so happy I did. Now I am considering a Google watch because I'm just over it. I just want simplicity.

This phone hits the sweetspot for price and options. It would be 5 stars if it had wireless charging. But the battery lasts plenty long to make it through the workday with 5% left. I wouldnt hesitate purchasing it if you're on the fence.

Love the camera! Took a picture with sunlight with my Samsung then with the Pixel and the difference between the two pictures was shocking. The reviews on the camera was my main reason not to get another Samsung. The sound quality on the phone is excellent and functionality good. Either I haven't figured out the voicemail options or it is just lacking. I liked on the Samsung how you could see the number that left a voicemail and play or delete from the screen without having to go into the message box and hear every message left in order. In comparing the two phones, that is my biggest annoyance.

Battery life is super! I kinda preferred the plastic build over the 3XL's, lighter, especially with a case on. Camera quality is same as the 3 XL.

This phone is a wonder. The best in it's class. The transfer of information etc. from my other phone was a breeze -- the easiest I have ever experienced. The phone is fast. The yellow power button is cute. I haven't taken any pictures yet but when I do I will create a follow up review. I especially look forward to low-light photography, which for many other phones is a challenge -- but not the Pixel. I have owned other phones over the years such as HTC and ZTE. My second phone now is a Moto X4 sapphire blue and it's a beauty and a keeper. That said the Pixel is my personal and travel phone.
