Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Pixel 3a XL's camera quality, describing it as outstanding and still good even in 2024. They also appreciate its affordable price, long battery life, and user-friendly interface. However, some customers have expressed concerns about the limited storage capacity, lack of wireless charging, and choppy speaker audio at high volumes.

This phone is fast, responsive, and has an OLED screen. I am a person that, for work, spends a very long time using my phone. The OLED tech significantly decreases eye strain after a long day. Though it does not have a slot for expanding memory, the 64GB of internal storage is large enough for most use cases. I have found that the camera on the google Pixel outperforms either my old droid or my partners apple.

I was about to continue to save up for a Galaxy S10 Plus, and even wanted to buy a used one. However, it struck me that the Pixel was available in a low budget form at a midrange price. Upon my visit to my local Best Buy, I tested the 3a, but saw the XL side by side and had to have it! It has yet to disappoint. (The battery life is a bit of something to worry about, but this may be due to all the apps I have in the background) Android 9.0 in vanilla form beats other phones with bloatware and I was able to easily connect it to my MVNO carrier with their SIM card. If you want the Pixel 3 but don't want to shell out those dollars, PLEASE give this phone a try...

I cannot say enough good things about Pixel 3a XL. OLED screen puts out a really nice display. The larger size makes the videos feel slightly more immersive. The camera is the best on Android phones! Night sight works well. And, Google keeps updating the software version as well as introducing new features originally exclusive for higher-priced models. Best budget phone of 2019 in my opinion for the size. If you are looking for all these features but a smaller size, go for Pixel 3a.

This phone is awesome, sure it is not a flagship but it is a great mid-range phone nonetheless. Great screen (OLED), nice size (6.3 inches), (SD 670), 64GB, and a 3700mah battery. Bought this phone since it was released and it is so good. Handles everything I've thrown at it, was able to play PUBG on high settings smoothly. Lastly, the camera on this phone is identical to the Pixel 3 flagship. Pictures take a little longer to process but it is the best camera on a budget device.

I read several reviews including YouTube videos comparing the Pixel 2 XL to the Pixel 3a XL. Many of the reviews didn't match up with what I could see. The camera alone is quite the upgrade. The screen resolution, color, and clarity is far superior on this 3a XL. The sound is fantastic! You can watch videos and listen to music with surround sound quality. There are many other features that are a definite upgrade, if you are one to pay attention to those little details.

I always wanted a Google Pixel phone but found that the entry level pricing was hard to swing at my budget level. Luckily Google released the 3a and 3a XL which offers the same quality as the other Pixel Phones but for a lower price point. After having the phone for over a month I can't put it down. The operating system is very smooth and the camera takes really clear, vivid pictures. I recommend this phone greatly to anybody looking to get a pure Android experience.

This is my first smart phone but love the screen quality and how easy it has been to go through the menus and set up. I have not tried the camera yet but have had no glitches using and setting up my phone. I purchased for $379 (took advantage of all the sales at Best Buy). When I compared to what it would cost to buy an iphone, this seemed like the obvious choice. The paperwork said the phone comes with three years of support--I assume that means software updates.

Excellent phone for the money. Clean design, easy to move content/apps/photos from old phone to new one, and the pixel takes care of the rest. The size is comparable to our old phone and the screen quality is so much better. There is a bit more glare on the screen in full sun, but we typically turn down the screen brightness. The camera is amazing, and the portrait mode does a tremendous job. Night mode is also a huge help. And it handles making/receiving calls pretty easy too.

Inexpensive Android Phone for Current Pixel Users

Bought to replace Pixel 2 XL. Inexpensive alternative to the newest upgrade. Not as water resistant, but I've used waterproof cases. Battery an improvement over the Pixel 2. Needs one software update to Android 10, and processor slightly slower than a Pixel 4, but unless you're desperate for the newest thing or heavy into fastest game play, you can't beat the price.

I am liking the phone thus far. It certainly suits my wants and needs. I use it when I am out and about and not at home...late for an appt and so on. I am not a cell phone lover and am not married to texting or surfing the web. Google Assistant is very nice and works well. The fingerprint sensor is nice as well...it works which surprised me!! The speed is fine, as far as I am concerned. Certainly beats paying $1,000.00 (plus for a phone) which I almost did....
