The best phone I didn't plan to buy

I'm happy to report that the Pixel 4 XL experience is good, despite what you may have read (note: ignore the tech journalists and their obsession with specs). I'm getting great battery life, find motion sense useful, and love the hardware design. I've owned the 2 XL and 3 XL, and the 4 XL is my favorite to date.
